A) light yellow with tiny white head

S)a little sweet but a little skunky...

T) a little more hops than a typical macro but watery

M) very light

O) in a blind taste test it would be tough to distinguish from any corona or bud light but it probably does taste a little better since you get it on a beach. Also very easy to put a lot back.

My can had "Premium", also hand carried from Nassau.

A) Very clear pale yellow with a ring of white that lasted, but failed to lace.

S) Mild corn in some malt sweetness.

T) Macro-lager with only a few mild flaws, namely corn and metal. There are some leafy hop notes that provide some balance.

M) Medium to light body and fizzy.

O) A basic workman like brew. Not bad, but not great either.

Pours a clear, pale golden color. There is a lot of fizzy carbonation that creates a very thin white head that dissipates immediately.
Smell had not much to it at all. Just a bit of buiscut smell and a slight tinge of generic hop.
Taste was much the same as the smell. A slight bit of taste and fizziness. One of those types of beers that a lime put into it makes it taste just like a lime.
Mouthfeel has a lot of sharp carbonation to it. However, there is a bit of nice thickness to it.
Drinkability is good because I could drink close to a case of these easily in the heat. However, the taste is so blah that I would reach for something better in the heat, like a Red Stripe or Dos Equis.

Had several of these on my cruise to the Bahamas. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head that left little lacing. Aroma of sweet pale malts and some adjunct. Tastes of some pale malt, light hop bitterness, light corn. Typical macro flavor, but smooth and crisp, easy to put a few of these back in the warm sun. A decent macro and even better since you can drink it in the Caribbean streets!

Bottle thanks to hopscotch. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. The aroma is full of sweet malts and some light hops. The flavor is decent; lots of mild malt and some light hops especially in the finish. Very clean and easygoing. Actually I found this to be pretty enjoyable.

Poured a medium straw hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and decent lacing.

The smell featured a musty noble hop and a light adjunct sweetness.

The taste was typical of the style with a slightly livelier hop than most. Pretty moderate malt-wise.

The mouthfeel was toward the fuller side of the style.

Overall an above average macro lager.

Drank multiple Kaliks on a recent trip to the Bahamas. Clear bottle with a straw colored beer inside. A few quick swirls show off a fizzy white head. Have not seen this in the states before.

Smells like your basic island lager. Light malty scent combines with some corn and, wait...whats this?!...some hops?! What a novel concept.

Delicate balance is maintained well between light malts and a noticeable amount of hop flavors. Highly carbonated and tastes like it has some corn adjuncts in it. Quite refreshing.

I'm not going to go so far as to recommend trying this beer, but I have no problem at all drinking this one at a tiki bar on the beach. I'd take this over many of the mexican brews.

Beer of the Bahamas. I got this one in a trade. Golden colored, crisp and very refreshing. Flavor seemed a little watered down, but nonetheless this is a smooth, easy drinking beer. Certainly beats a lot of other pale lagers out there. Drink this one in the sun.

Eh, a decent beer that I really enjoyed when I was in high school...I generally do not like this beer, but it has a distinct taste that I crave once in a while...The note is a grainy/earthy note that really appeals to me when I need refreshment. I must add that this beer is a good beach beer!

Twelve ounce bottle that was purchased in Nassau, Bahamas and consumed on 07/09/2008.

My mother picked this one up for me on her cruise through the Bahamas, and to be honest I just never did get around to trying it. I grabbed it out of the fridge last night as I needed something light to drink during the grilling of dinner. The pour was rather uneventful, a dull golden yellow, with a touch of orange highlights came through on this one. Nothing much ion the way of side glass lace, and a smallish, maybe one inch high head of white foam came over the top, faded fast, and left a bare, crystal clear liquid in front of me.

The aroma was dull grain and corn. Musky with not much depth to it. Your classic American macro lager. The flavor went equally no where fast. Nothing much to speak of as it was just rather bland. Lots of bready malts, with a musty taste, sort of wet cardboard like in nature. Decent carbonation on the profile, but overall it was far too thin. It was an easy drinker, only because of the light body and low ABV, but why you would want to have another, well that I am just not sure of.

Overall not terrible, but just right above that line . I appreciated the effort of bringing this one back, and it was better then the other two I tried, that I have to admit, however I think I will have to pass on any future endeavors.

I was just informed by a friend that this is apparently pronounced 'click'. Which is good, because the pronounciation in my head sounded like 'cow lick'.

A: Pale, pale straw color, minimal head.

S: Nothing in particular. If I were to describe it, it just sort of smells like 'beer'. Mostly cereal and steamed rice malts with a moderate sweetness to it. No distinct hop smell.

T: The first taste is water. The second is...water. I could go for a run and use this as a thirst quencher. Theres some, but not much, malt sweetness and just a dash of bitterness in the tail end.

M: Like crisp spring water straight from the source.

D: If you want a beer and can't be bothered with taste, this is your guy.

Had quite a few cans of this while vacationing with Alewife last week at Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort.

Pours a clear, pale golden color, with average carbo rising up. Head was quite minimal, mainly a thin white layer of bubbles which lapsed quite quickly. Lacing was also on the short side for the most part. Nose was a touch bready, but mostly had a grassy hoppiness emanating forth. Somewhat on the mild side, overall. The body was close to medium, surprisingly, with a light touch of prickliness in the mostly smooth feel on the tongue.

Kalik has a subtle sweetness coming through at the start, in a corny type of manner. A little breadiness is present here, too, with lots of grassy, earthy hops dominating the taste, though not really overly bitter. Quite dry in the finish, this isn't too bad, overall. I can drink a few, but then it gets a bit tiring. Found it to be a bit better than I recall Red Stripe being....

This is the Bahamian equivlent to Bud. Kalik is by far the most marketed beer in the Bahamas. Unfortunately the marketing is all that it has going for it.
Piss yellow in color no head nor lace. Just a few bubbles rising.
Very little aroma and I can't get anything but a musty smell.
About par with BMC. It does have a crisp flavor and mouthfeel to it.
If you want to drink a Bahamiam beer as a novelty then I'd recommend one of the others. Lucayan Lager if you can find it.

I just got back from an all-inclusive resort in the Bahamas. This was the only beer option. I drank many of these over the week, they were the ultimate refresher in the 90 degree heat.

In the glass Kalik is gold straw hued with a foamy film of a head and a few whisps of lace left behind. The smell is light with a hint of fresh mown grass, and some weak pale malts. The taste is akin to a Czech Pilsner; wet hop leaf and a moderate bitterness mix with biscuity malt and some light corn flavors. The finish is lightly bitter and lasts a little while.

This is much better than the run of the mill international lager... because it has some hop flavor. The malt profile is anemic as is the norm.

A- A crystal clear gold color.

S- Grainy or maybe cereal not a whole lot going on here.

T- Also nothing special going on here. Not much hops or anything. Not much different than Bud or Coors but a little better than those.

M- Average for sure.

D- Really easy to drink or it might of been the fact that I was on vacation and could really care less about things.

Not a terrible beer but also nothing to write home about.

This beer is light yellow in color with a faint scent of light grain and almost no head of foam at all. Kalik Light is completely clear and its color is similar to an Anheuser- Busch product even though the former isn't brewed (as far as I know) with rice as an ingredient.

The primary flavors present in Kalik Light are mixed cereal grains and dough, with a faint metallic taste and a finish that is somewhat paper- like and devoid of hops. The more I drank this beer, the more I noticed a taste that was rather foul- hard to describe accurately but certainly not pleasant.

Pours straw yellow with a thin white head that descends to a thin patch. Typical/average macro appearance.

The smell is of sweet grain/cereal.

The taste is of sweet fizzy cereal and some rather bland grainy malt. Plenty of adjuncts with some sulfur. Tonic water finish.

The feel is watery/fizzy. Though there is some body to it for the style, it remains soildly light. Very light - expected, but enough sulfur sticks to tongue to make it rather unimpressive, even for the style.

This is pretty much flavorless. It's another seltzery macro mess for the most part. Might be quenching in the heat of the Bahamas, but there are macros out there that are better than this, if that is your thing.

I tried this at a little palm tree covered outdoor cafe in the quaint old part of Key West. It was about ten in the morning, and the guy at the cafe sort of raised an eyebrow when I asked for a beer at that hour. I kindly informed him that I was on a cruise, and that beer at ten am is perfectly normal whilst on vacation. So there.

A - Golden yellow with a small white head. The brew is perfectly clear, and there is no trace of lace.

S - Fruity with a macro lager trace of funk. I can smell some mango notes on top of the adjuncty smells.

T - Fruity, grainy, and a bit zesty. Papaya and mango are there, but just barely.

M - Moderate carbonation and a fuller-than-excpected mouthfeel add up to a decent feeling beer. The finish is off-dry and gritty.

D - Good. This isn't an outstanding brew, but I like the unique mango and papaya flavors. A half way decent session beer for the beach.

The beer is packaged in a clear 12 oz bottle with no apparent freshness dating.

The beer is a crystal clear, light yellow with a quickly collapsing bone white head.

Aroma is of grains, sulfur and cooked corn.

The taste is similar to the smell. There are some sweetish grains that are dominated by the sulfur\skunk taste. There are some hops in the distant background, but they quickly surrender.

The mouth is solidly average. Drinkablity suffers from the sulfuric overtones. Perhaps this would be better fresh at the source. I won’t seek it out until I return to the Bahamas.

Poured from the clear glass 12 oz. bottle into my straight sided tumbler, the color is straw yellow, with little head which quickly dissapates. Very little aroma consisting mainly of wet dog. Taste is of little hop, skunk, due probably to clear glass, as well as grass flavors. Mouthfeel is light. Drinkability is good, one could drink several of these while doing chores around the house on a Saturday. This Kalik beer reminds me a lot of a Corona. Almost certainly fresher in the Bahamas, this bottle purchased in Jacksonville Florida.

Just a thought

Yeah yeah, yeah, American Macro Lager, blahblahblah. This beer is good. Is it lacking in craftsmanship? Yes. Is it lacking in character? Yes. Do you pay way too much for it? Yes. Does it taste great? Yes. Is there a better beer that accompanies a scenario better? No. Try this one under the hot sun of the Out Island (Abaco, Eleuthera) paired with local seafood, or conch fritters, and you'll see.

Fairly generic yellow straw color. Head retention's possibly a little better than other beers from sunshiny areas like this one. Pretty good amount of skunk coming out of the bottle though. Had a couple of these before though, and that seems like par for the course.

Taste is not unlike Corona, only quite a bit more bitter. They seem to have used more hops than I expected, but they seem to have all gone bad from extreme skunking.

A less clear bottle and some quality control and this might be a drinkable brew. Right now, it's not.

Had a bunch of these while at the Bahamas for 'work'.

Well, I wasn't expecting much, and that is what I got. Pours a pale piss color with some good carbonation, small bubbles, a tiny bit of head that dissipates quickly. Reminds me of MGD or Bud. Very translucent, but not THAT skunky. Smells of slight alcohols as well as a little bit of corn. Taste is light and slightly skunky, but could be much worse. Easy to drink after the first couple, but I guess that is true about most beers of this nature.
