I was amazed to find Franny's already listed in Beerfly; I was going to add it myself.
I went to Franny's for dinner one evening and I had a great meal. My girlfriend and I each had our own personal pizza (that's the only size available) and a couple of pints and it cost us $40. Granted, you might say that's expensive for Brooklyn, but let's face it - Park Slope is more expensive than some areas of Manhattan these days.
Quality? Exceptional. The owners are committed to sustainable agriculture, so they are committed to buying local ingredients and rotating their menu with seasonal offerings. As a result, everything is as fresh as can be.
Which brings me to the beer - not a vast selection, but always a local selection. The owners keep their commitment of local ingredients to their tap beer, and usually only feature New York microbreweries, and Brooklyn Brewery as well. Although there are only three taps, they are almost always three quality local brews.
Fresh pizza and beer is not a novel concept, but when it's done in the manner that Franny's does it, it's no surprise why this place is banging every night.
