Poured into a tulip glass.

Appearance: golden amber in color, pours 1 inch of thick white head that fades slowly, light lacing, clear.

Smell: almonds, toffee, nougat, bready, honey.

Taste: almonds, nougat, bready, honey, sweet.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied, moderate carbonation, creamy.

Overall: Wow!!! This beer amazed me. Great complexity. The taste and aroma are incredible. This beer is definitely a dessert beer. It is very sweet and tastes and smells just as promised. It is like a liquid candy bar. Drinkability is high, but definitely plan on sharing.

This beer intrigued me simply because it was brew with Nougat. Figured this would be a nice opportunity to see what this beer had going on in it. The pour was pretty simple, comes out looking like a lightly hazed yellowish gold color with a thin white head on top. The head fades just leaving a sporadic white film on top. The smell to me is impressive. I see this beer doesn't go over too well with some people but for me the nose is very very nice. The Nougat really shines through, the sweet nuttiness reminds me of hazelnut a little bit, it has no hop aroma at all. The taste of the beer isn't cloying in my opinion, I can see how people would say that but I think it's ok. The beer is a sweet brew, there isn't much bitterness to balance it out. I do like the sweet nutty flavors it has with the hidden vanilla notes in there too. The mouthfeel is medium to light bodied and doesn't feel syrupy even for the amount of sugars that are probably in it. The carbonation is minimal making this beer is bit on the flatter side. Overall I think this beer could be enjoyed best after a meal or as a night cap (like I'm doing now). I feel like I need to have this beer again and I wouldn't mind picking up a few more bottles in the near future.

A: The beer is relatively clear golden yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin white head that died down but never completely faded away.
S: The smell has intense yet pleasant sweet aromas of nougat along with notes of notes.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste is dominated by flavors of nougat and also has notes of sweetness, hazelnuts and vanilla along with hints of honey.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer was a pleasant surprise and has an interesting taste. The smell is extremely strong but luckily the flavors in the taste were a little more subdued.

A: Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with a half finger tall white head. The head reduces to a very thin layer at the edges of the glass but never completely goes away. Moderate lacing is observed.

S: Smells slightly like a liquid candy bar - the aroma of the nougat is very present and intense. Lots of sweetness present including honey, vanilla, and definitely some nuts. Very enticing and very inviting aroma.

T: Flavor is might lighter than expected from the aroma - very light in flavor and kind of refreshing. You get hints of vanilla, honey, and nuts along with the nougat flavor.

M: Light bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Much lighter than expected.

O: I did not expect to enjoy this beer but I found it to be one of the beers I really enjoyed. Glad I had the opportunity to share in this one with friends. One of the more interesting beers I have ever tried and definitely the only nougat beer I have ever heard about. Really enjoyed the lightness of the flavor. Not sure it is something anyone would want to session, but it is one I would sample at another time.

Pours a clear orange/copper color with minimal ring of white bubbles. Scent is of almond paste as the name would lead me to believe, splashes of honey and powdered sugar, light splash of stale, earthy hops. Taste began with a quick and light sweetness along with the almond paste, doesn't last too long as it settles into notes of light honey and stale, dried hops. Thin and needs a lot more carbonation and a little more sweetness to come across a bit better. Fun experience, great scent, taste just didn't last too long.

Poured into a CBS snifter.

A) Nothing to write home about here. This is a straw yellow. It's pretty clean and clear. There was a finger of bubbly white head that dissipated rather quickly. No lacing...

S) This smells fantastic... This is all about the almond. It's like almond extract + beer. It really comes together, and works quite well.

T) Almonds, vanilla and a touch of honey. The beer flavors are really pretty light, but they're present. Decent finish and aftertaste.

M) The low point of this brew in my opinion. This seemed thin and kind of flat. It went down easy enough, all things considered.

O) The aroma was the highlight for me, but if almond isn't your thing, this would hardly be the case. The taste is drinkable, and not even close to drain pour territory. I give the brewer an A for effort, and an A for creativity. I can see how this beer isn't for everyone, but really, for what it is, it's pretty good.

Reviewed from tasting notes.

Pours out of the bottle a standard amber color with a flash head and light amounts of lacing left behind on the glass. Smells of sweet toasted chestnuts, almond marzipan, and candy bar nougat. Has a sweet cream soda flavor, with even more candy-filled nougat. There are also minor nutella aspects once the glass warms up somewhat. Has a medium texture with light carbonation. It's essentially liquid high-end confectionary in a glass, for all the positives and negatives that brings. If you love cream soda and candy bar fillings, this is pretty much a beer version of that.

pours an attractive brown tinged amber with moderate one finger head that fades to a film.
the aroma is like nutty(hazelnut, almond) maltball flowers. i think that about sums it up.
the taste has a lot of sweet flavored things going on. At every turn you think it's going to get cloying, but it never does somehow. there are notes of honey, vanilla, a few different kinds of nuttiness, light fruitiness (sort of like sam adams cherry wheat if you're familiar), kids breakfast cereal malted graininess. just a bit of bitterness really cleans up the finish.
the mouthfeel is a little slickly medium bodied with a moderate carbonation.
overall, one of the most unique beers i've ever had. in 750ml format it's a bit much for one person, and if you don't like nougat this beer will make you want to jump off a cliff, but it's well crafted ofr what it is and i'm glad i had the opportunity to try it.

Pours a clear, orange color. 1/5 inch head of an off-white color. Poor retention and poor lacing. Smells of pale malt, slight sweet malt, chocolate, and vanilla. Does not fit the style of a Biere de Garde. It more closely resembles and Amber Ale with nougat. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of pale malt, sweet malt, chocolate, vanilla, hint of hop, and a hint of nut. Overall, weak appearance and aroma is muted, but the feel, blend, and body are good. I will have to give it a poor rating as it is currently classified as a Biere de Garde.

Brought by a friend from Germany and shared at our monthly beer club. Light brown/yellow body with a white head. Smells a lot like nougatty chocolate with hazlenuts and biscuity odors too. Interesting smell but a bit artificial. Tastes not-very-beer-like. Kind of like a kit-kat bar melted into a drink. It tastes good, but not like a beer really. Thin mouthfeel. Overall, how you feel about this beer probably depends on what you want from it...if you want a sweet candy-like drink/beer hybrid...this is the beer for you.

Thanks, Chris(Pro). Poured into tulip.

A - Pours golden yellow, cream-colored head, thin collar, wisps.

S - Pretty high level of sweetness, which I attribute to the nougat (obviously), some vanilla, and molasses. It's not overly sweet, but I would get tired of this rather quickly.

T - Similar to the nose. Huge nougat, caramel, and vanilla notes. The sweetness is really in-your-face to enjoy a large amount of this beer, but in a smaller dose, I like it. Finish is sweet, sweet, with some more sweetness.

M - Light, good carbonation, sweet finish.

O - Well, it lives up to its name...lots of nougat, which is cool. That said, it's hard to drink much of this stuff and my pour was plenty. This would be an excellent beer to pair with some kind of dessert.
