A 750ml corked and caged bottle, 1999 vintage, bottle no. 05590, with a notched best before date of December 2005. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen gueuze glass.
Appearance: A clear bright copper orange colour with no head and no lacing.
Aroma: Tart, funky, barnyard, musty, damp wood, apple, citrus, orange, vinegar, with maybe some berry notes.
Taste: Tart, sour, apple, apple cider vinegar, mixed berries, lemon juice.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
Overall: This was interesting, and I probably want to say, past it’s prime, although unfortunately I don’t really have a reference point since this is the first one I’ve tried. But there was still some nice flavours going on. Worth a try, especially for those that enjoy gueuze like I do.

Thanks to Francois to sharing this 1999 bottle purchased directly from brewery. Sampled on the Millennium Gueuze night.
A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a slightly hazy honey hue with with a thin wispy head that fades to leave nothing.
S - Big aromas of balsamic vinegar, dried red fruits, plums, citrus, berries. Really really fragrant.
T - Taste is similar to the nose with loads of balsamic vinegar, tart berries, good dried fruit. Very acidic though.
M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, little syrupy, good finish.
O - Overall this was a solid enough lambic, however, it was super acidic. Unfortunate.

Rvdoor brought this one to our yearly shin-dig back in October. Yes, it takes me forever to turn notes into reviews. Sue me.
From a 75cl bottle into a snifter
APPEARANCE: Pours out an opaque burnt orange and ends up flat in the glass with a few bubbles on top. Basically flat with no carbonation for the entire ride.
SMELL: Barnyard funk, citrus lemon aromas and some hay. Lots of citrus on this one and rather bold at this point. Quite enticing.
TASTE: Really flavorful stuff. Barnyard funk, citrus flavors, sourness and some lemon flavors up front. Really bold finish is funky with citrus sourness, lemon, hay and barnyard character, as well as some light bitterness lingering on the palate.
PALATE: Medium body and basically no carbonation. Silky on the palate, goes down smooth with some acidity and finishes dry and puckering.
OVERALL: This was excellent. I actually had rather low expectations for this one but it triumphed like a champ at the party. It was most definitely my favorite lambic of the day and that’s a tough battle to win at these parties. The lack of carbonation was a moot point as the aroma and flavor were simply streaming all over the room. Lots of character and well worth the effort if you can still track a bottle down. Thanks again, RV. This was delicious.

White head. Burnt sunset orange.
Very sour. Apple cider vinegar but not as intense as Braggs. Oaky and funky. Tart with lemon acidity. Maybe a bit past it's prime since it has lost some of the gueuze flavors and the sour has taken over. I can imagine this being stunning a few years back. A very fun beer to try.
