I consider myself somewhat of a regular here. The three guys that own the place are extremely nice. There are also a few younger guys who know exactly where everything is and will help you find whatever you are looking for as well as help you carry it to your car.
The selection is great. They have every mainstream brew you can think of as well as an incredible micro section. Their prices are extremely reasonable and they are no strangers to the occasional freebie (I've racked up 2 Weizen glasses, a limited edition bottle opener and a set of six Stella Artois glasses). If you cannot find what they have they will gladly order a case for you and have it within a few days.
Lastly this place does have some importance for the homebrewer. I am new to homebrewing and went into Beverage World to ask Al, one of the owners if he was selling any of the empty bottles that they collect (they have a TON). He said of course he would sell me a case for a few bucks but they don't separate the twist-off's from the non-twist-off's, so that was up to me. They do however separate the swingtop bottles from the rest and sell those for a bit more.
All in all, these guys know their stuff and are extremely nice. Beverage world is the place to go.

Not the prettiest place but a good selection of Micros. Dogfishhead Captain Lawrence, Allagash, Southampton, Southern Tier, Omme ect.
The best selection in Northern Westchester I have seen yet.
Good service, they kept asking me if I needed help. At one point, as I was checking each Micro bomber on the shelf, a young kid comes up to me and said, "If your looking for wine we don't stock any." I replied, "no I drink beer."
I guess I look like a wine guy!
Then I started chatting with Al, one of the owners, who is one of the nicest guys and very helpful. He gave me a free glass.
I was hoping to find Blue Point Growlers which others had wrote about in previous reviews but sadly they do not stock them anymore. I guess with a 30 day expiration date they would not sell before they expired.
The prices are great. Cheapest I have seen in the area. That combined with the great selection and great service makes this a place I will continue to visit.

Depending on who is at the register when you check out, this ranges between an average and a great experience. Once picked up a case of Paulaner Hefe Weizen and the cashier made sure to give me a 1/2liter grand pilsner glass to enjoy it with. Bought another and he gave two fine pilsner glasses. Picked up a case of sam Adams Dopple Bock and he gave 2 pint glasses. I only say all this because some folks there really aim to please and make the beer drinking experience a pleasure. The average customer there is looking for a bud, smokes and a lottery ticket (I confess, I sometimes buy a scratcher myself). However there is a really fine selection of microbrews: e.g., Victory, Dogfish. And a nice selection of imports. Hopefully, if you grab a case, the guy with the stash will check you out...and send you home with some nice glassware in addition to resonably priced beers (if not you will still be pleased!)
The occasional freebies aside, this place keeps getting better and better. The absolute best customer service. The owners take the time to tell you about new arrivals, and to let you know what they have ordered and expect in. A relatively broad selection: Stone, Bear Republic, Middle Ages, Victory, Dogfish, Rouge...and on and on. Definitely best place in the general area of Northwestern Westchester. The selection of Stouts continues to improve!!! I go in here at least once a week.
They now also carry Avery, Stone (a larger selection than before), Anderson Valley, Ommegang, Flying Dog, North Coast Brewing, Keegan, Lake Placid, Wolaver's, Chimay, Southampton, St. Bernardus 12 cap, Corsendonk, etc. If they don't have what your looking for, ask and they will try to get it in.

I stopped in at Beverage World for the first time about ten days ago to look for the newest Red hook offerings. They had the latest seasonal as well as the 8-4-1 which no one else in NY has. Selection of other american craft brews was quite good and prices were reasonable.
Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I asked to buy an opener and they threw in two and a beer glass for free.
Location was out of the way, but the selection and service makes it worth leaving the beaten path to visit!

my first visit to this place today was very pleasant indeed - looks like a typical beverage distributor when you pull up to the place - walk in the door and there's some premium craft beer within arm's reach - the center aisle has a great selection of craft, in quantity -
i picked up a 6 of oaked arrogant bastard, a 4pk of old rasputin, some green flash west coast ipa - a brooklyn local2 - some sa imperial bock, dfh palo santo maron - dfh wwstout -green flash stout - 2 bombers of avery maharaja - a southern tier gemini - and a great divide hercules dipa - - they threw in a brooklyn tulip glass, a dfh snifter, and one of those sam adams glasses - cool! - they let me use the 'employees only' bathroom - i'm excited to find this place (thru beerfly here) so close to home!

What a gem. All of the other liquor stores in ritzy Westchester County have only crap beers. This place stands out!
I found World Wide Stout, 120 minute IPA, Stone beers, a full selection from Brooklyn Brewery, Anderson Valley, Allagash, etc. Amazing.
My only concern is how these beers were being kept. This place is a tiny shack in the middle of nowhere. When I was there it was 90 degrees outside and most of the beers were just sitting there on the shelves with no refrigeration. Also, some of them seemed old. If you're like me, you'll stick to the heavy stuff to safeguard against staling...
Luck for them, the service rocked. A 20-year-old kid who was definitely down with the microbrew scene helped me out. He was friendly and cordial and you could tell he loved introducing people to good beer.
Check this place out if you live in the area. It's one of the only good beer spots around.

I've been living near this place for about 5 years, but did not discover it until two years ago. In that time the quality of their stock continues to grow. The service is excellent. If they don't carry it, they'll order it and not mark it up as some kind of premium product. I often find something new and untried on their shelves.More then enough micro brews and craft beers to keep me from wanting. I recommend this place to all beer drinkers, from the bud man to the more discernible brew head.

This is where I go locally for beer, as it's right down the street from my local supermarket. When I first started going in there, they didn't carry that much of the better beers, and what they had was old and dusty. I turned them on to BeerAdvocate, and asked them if they had Storm King Stout. The next week, I stopped in, and they had ordered a case of it. They have started carrying Stone, Bear Republic, Goose Island, Blue Point, Southhampton, Keegan Ales, and a bunch of other good micros! If there's anything I want, and their distributor carries it, they'll get it for me, no problem. Every time I go in now, one of the owners comes over to show me what's new. True, they don't have the depth of stock that Half Time has, but, on the other hand, I don't have to drive an hour to Poughkeepsie, either! They do mostly macros, of course, and they walk that fine line with the micros of how much to order, which ones to stock, are they gonna sell, or are we gonna take it in the shorts? They are trying, and always very helpful, and they deserve your support if you're in the area!

Not the largest selection of Micro Brews but a really SOLID selection, plus the nicest staff you'll ever meet. While the staff are not beer nerds, they'll give you opinions on what they've had or tell you what the "regulars" think of certain beers, they make up for what the lack in beer nerdom by their friendliness and good natured service. This is my usual haunt for beer buying, and if they don't have something ask about it, they'll try their best to get it in.
They have a full selection of Smuttynose, Brooklyn and Magic Hat beers, and a really solid selection of Dogfish Head and Victory brews, complemented by a rotating stock of other delightfully (sometimes smaller) micro brews.
I've noticed recently they've been starting to get in more and more "big bottle" and special release beers. Which is a definate plus.
Also they usually have Growlers of Blue Point chillin in the fridge.
As mentionied by other reviewers their is often dust coating the bottles but honestly I think this is more the nature of the place, and I don't think the dudes care too much about going around keeping things clean. I have never gotten beer there that taste like it was past it's prime.
