A 12oz can into a pint glass.

This beer looks good, despite what I believe was some brewers yeast that made it past my careful pour into the glass. Please, can beer makers, please filter your beer - it's impossible to see the yeast coming! Amber/copper in color with some honey colored edges, the beer looks nice. It has a decent head that eventually settles down to a ring, leaving spotty lace on the glass.

The smell is fruity malt and some caramel sweetness. The fruit leaves me with impressions of oranges and white grapes, perhaps even a touch of cotton candy. Strange but not offensive.

The fruitiness carries over to the taste but is much better contrasted by malt presence. There's an initial sweetness that is reminiscent of oranges, sweet apples and sugary bread crust. There's also some traditional grainy malt tastes - caramel, cookie dough, and just a touch of toast. Bitterness is mild and the finish is clean with just a touch of grain and cardboard.

The mouthfeel is light and the carbonation makes this a refreshing beer. Overall, I didn't hate this beer but found the fruitiness strange and the beer as a whole was rather remarkable.

Appearance: Bright orange with excellent carbonation and nice white lacing.

Smell: Sweet citrus and caramel. Faint bitter pine in the finish.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Bitter orange with a caramel finish. Excellent balance but a tad generic. Slick mouthfeel full of hop oil.

Overall: A decent amber.

12 oz. can (which calls this an "Oktoberfest-style ale; not really sure how that works, but I'll still drink it) poured into a shaker pint. Clean copper body with a solid finger of frothy white head. Decent retention and good lacing.

Aroma is very malt-forward. Caramel, toffee, biscuit, and doughy. Interesting berry aroma as well. This almost smells like one of those fruit flavored cereals from my youth; I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

Slight spicy/earthy hoppiness, but mostly this thing is just sweet. As in extraordinarily cloyingly sweet. Caramel, biscuit, and that strange artificial berry flavor are all combining in a very concerted effort in making this downright unpleasant. Dry, burnt finish seals the deal.

Good carbonation, but a sticky, grainy mouthfeel.

Overall I am very glad this was a freebie from a distributor. One of the worst craft beers I've tried. Avoid.
