Matte black under brown.
Toffee and fudge aroma, undepinned with mocha and wavering Irish whisky booze vapors.
A malt melee. Smoky up front with notions of ash and charred wood embers, that congeal into espresso, then on to mocha as the dominating chocolate hues present themselves. It grows increasing fudge-like, mingled with toffee and caramel syrup , and gains a very Tootsie Roll-like personality. Vanilla bean later, with a tempered red grape vinousness. It's never hot, in fact, the alcohol is entirely cloaked. It ends modestly hopped, packing sufficient back-end bitterness and a vague notions of spruce and grass.
Medium full in stature, with a light and steady carbonation that ushers this gracefully down the chute.
A fantastic malt-bomb porter, and one that in spite of its bigness (or because of it) mantains purpose and delicacy. (849 characters)
