Appearance: Pours a slightly cloudy, light golden color with a strong white head. SRM of 7. (3.75)
Aroma: Moderate aromas of bread malt, light German bread spices of cloves and banana.
Flavor: Strong flavors of bread malt, biscuit malt, citrus, spice, wheat. Orange citrus and spice with some bubblegum and cloves. Wheat on the finish with a citrus wheat component.
Feel: Medium-bodied. Appropriate carbonation. Some sweet citrus lingers.
Rankings from a 4-way Blind test:
#1 New Glarus Bubbler: This one perfectly captures the essence of a hefeweizen. Strong German bread spices with cloves, banana, bubblegum. Yeasty, carbonated, clean. Extremely flavorful for the lower ABV. One of the top American Hefeweizens.
#2 Raised Grain Summer Vice: Has a nice orange citrus spice and authentic German wheat flavors of banana and wheat. The citrus gives it a slight American twist, but still has authenticity of banana and clove. Slightly sweet
#3 Great Dane Crop Circle Wheat: Drinks like a 50:50 citrus wheat and Hefe. Lots of lemon citrus and wheat, but still enough bread & spice to clean it up on the finish. Somewhat similar to #2.
#4 Lakefront Wisconsinite: Tart lemon citrus. Drinks flat, sweet citrus and tart. The worst of the bunch.
Overall: A nice Hefeweizen here. This one has some nice orange citrus and wheat flavors. Orange spice pairs nicely and gives this hefeweizen an American twist. Not too citrusy or sweet either. Drinks like 50:50 a citrus wheat and 50:50 Hefeweizen. Still pretty good.

Overall a very good hefeweisen. Would buy again. Good taste and smell and overall color of a hefeweisen. Smell of distinct banana and cloves. With a lemon, tastes like a good wheat beer should.

A good local Hefeweizen but not as good as the real deal from Germany. For a change of pace I have them add some Raspberry liquor to the glass prior to the pour. A sweet version of a Berliner weisse.

It's your fairly standard American wheat beer; it even comes in a hefeweizen style glass. Two finger thick white head, fair retention, no lacing. Mildly cloudy yellow body. Smell is a bit of cloves, not so much bubble gum, but cloves, spices, wheat, and a bit of lemon and earth. Flavour follows; standard hefeweizen that skews more towards the clove side of the balance rather than bubblegum. Clean, refreshing, medium-lighter body with good carbonation, very drinkable.

Poured 12 oz can into a Hefe glass. Very hazy straw colored with a 2 finger white head. A nice fermented wheat aroma with a good amount of Bavarian yeast, banana, touch of flora hops and a pinch of light citrus. Taste is similar with the yeast and pale malts colliding with ripe banana, vanilla, and clove. It finishes with nice floral hop profile on the wheat base. Easy to drink lighter style, great for summer or any month.

Crop Circle pours a hazy yellow color with a small fizzy head. Weaker aroma with citrus and wheat notes. Taste is creamy, with hints of banana and spices, and a nice lemon flavor. Good body and feel. Overall top notch hefe.
