At the Hilldale Location.

An inky black body allows only a few magenta glints arounds its edges as the low cocoa head fades at a moderate clip.
Wet, doughy, chocolate muffin aroma with cherry and vanilla-hazelnut and oak influences from the barrel. There is also a great deal of charcoal bitterness and boozy burn.
Plenty of chocolate up front and throughout, backed with liquorice and prune. The barreling doesn't add a ton, aside from some background burnt cherry and hazelnuttiness, and the general spirit of the spirit itself. It does, however, bring a jarring tannic burnt oakiness that joins an equally off-balance hop bitterness. There is no real hop flavor signature, just lots of astringency towards the end.
Thick, full bodied, lowly carbonation. The body itself is fine.
There is too much here that clashes. The big stout maltiness is good, but no match for the bitterness, char, and tannins that follow it.
