Served up as a dusty bodied tan-orange with a pale beige head that dwindles or a minute or two to leave decent lacework.
Wet doughy nose, with lemon rinds, peppery herbs, wintergreen, and sharp cheddar cheese.
A plump doughiness is the first thing noticed once it's in the mouth. A small pear-like fruitiness emerges from the blanketing breadiness, but not to any particular shin of its own. Some yeastiness in the middle, but in a generally non-descript (or just more bready), aside from some small prickles of pepper. This mingles directly into the hops, which are foremost herbal and grassy with underlying orange oil and spearmint, and that same sharp cheddar burst from the nose. A minor flare of alcohol concludes things.
Medium bodied, though it thins as the carbonation dies, and the alcohol become more of a feature.
It's definitely modeled after a fattened APA, and the balance is in line as such. Not bad, but sort of marooned between their Imperial IPA and Old Glory Pale Ale. Which, respectively, better satisfy either bold hop fixes or sessions.
