I prefer the Wilmington Riverfront location to this one particularly during the school year. The college girls coming in and walking by outside are nice to look at, but the quality of service seems to go down a bit during the school season. The food is really good and reasonably priced. The beer selection is decent. They offer only Iron Hill beers. They typicaly have the regulars with 3-4 seasonals on the menu. I have heard they sometimes have casks, but I have yet to be around when it was available. I would recommend Iron Hill to someone who happened to be in the University of Delaware area.

Unfortunately it seemed like this place is a restaurant first and then a brewery. None of the beer strayed away from what would be considered old standards. IPA's, Lagers, Wheat, no stouts on tap. The pizza I ordered was great and the food along is worth it, but don't expect anyone pushing the envelope of beer.

I made the stop here with a few friends from Central PA as we jumped around Maryland and Delaware for the day.

The street entrance was nice, as it was in a building by itself. Upon entering, the inside is set up like other Iron Hill locations. A big area with tables for those who want dinner and a big bar with tables for those who want to watch TV.

The selection here was pretty normal, but normal for Iron Hill is great anywhere else. They had their year round offerings and few specialties. I had the Pumpkin Ale and an American IPA. I also remember Red Dawn (elderberry saison) and a Tripel. The two beers I had were fresh. My only complaint was, when I asked for a sample of Red Dawn the glass had a lot of dish detergent smell coming out.

The bartender was a nice guy. He said he was covering from the Wilmington location. That's cool that they can go back and forth and still have the same operations. He offered us samples, was quick to refill our glasses, and answer any questions we had. There was also a beer leak while we were there. The brewer didn't make a big fuss about, but he cleaned it up very quickly.

No food this time, but the menu looked the same as other locations.

I enjoyed myself here, but I think I like the Lancaster location a little better. It's probably because I've been there a few times, but oh well. The Newark location does not disappoint with their service nor their beer.

Stopped in here with Deuane, thain709, and StormKing47 on our trip around DE and MD last week. I have been to a few of the other Iron Hill locations so I was happy to stop at this one as well.

Upon entering you are greeted with a choice of two sides. To the left you have the bar area and the brewing setup. To the right is the dining room. On this trip we will be sticking with the bar area. The atmosphere is pretty good. Like the other Iron Hill locations they have a nice big bar, a few TV's, and a bunch of seating behind you. There was a good amount of people in there for that time of day. Some of the managers were sitting at the bar with their laptops doing god knows what, I though that is what offices were for but I guess not...The quality is good, just like all the other locations. Their beer is top notch and the food is even better, tho I did not try any this time because we had just eaten. The prices were pretty reasonable for what you get, I would like to see a few of the beer prices reduced but that isn't a huge deal.

The service was pretty good. The bartender was pretty knowledgeable but at times it felt like he was lecturing us, and with the group of guys we had, we really didn't need that at all. He did try to recomend quite a few beers to us but we have all had them already so we just stuck to the plan. The selection was decent. I would have liked to see a few more specialty's and a few less year rounders. They had one cask offering but it wasn't anything special. I got a pumpkin and it was pretty good but nowhere near the best I have had.

Overall yet another quality Iron Hill location. Next time I am in the area I may have to stop here again.

Downtown, college town, one of multiple Iron Hill locations in the area.

Outdoor tables and seeting as you enter...comfortable, clean, well maintained sort of place. Decent sized seating area, raised bar tables and nice wooden bar tot he right as you enter.

Extensive food menu, featuring a "healthy" menu, which I greatly appreciated as well as the burger, soups, salads and other assorted entrees that you would expect in a quality brew pub and restaurant.

Beer wise they are putting out a half dozen house regular brews supplemented by another 6 seasonal options. Add to that about a dozen of their brews available in bottles (to drink there and/or to take home, and they have your beer choices covered quite well.

Well run joint, you get the feeling that they know what they are doing and they are having a fun time doing it. Well worth a visit

A brief side trip on the way to Philly.

Atmosphere: Like many other Iron Hill restaurants, dark woods are the required decor. A small patio out front leads into a foyer adjacent to the bar. The brewing area is to the left, fronted by tables. More tables stretch long past the kitchen. I settled into the bar, a long L-shaped wooden one, for a few pints.

Quality: Early lunch, relatively small crowds. The bar was long, save for the rather annoying couple beside me. The taplist was impressive and service fast.

Service: I was greeted immediately and offered a menu. I also had the opportunity to use my mu club card for the first time. 24 Oz of beer may be a bit much! The service greatly benefitted from the slow atmosphere.

Selection: 5 house beers and at least 8 seasonals, including Czech and German Pilseners. I opted for the dunkelweizen and west coast golden ale - both good choices although the WCG was a little hoppy. Elvis's Sideburns, a Double IPA recently kicked...

Food: The menu is unvarying - good things come from repetition. May is National Burger Month, as I was told on entrance, so I opted for the New Mexico burger, complete with chilis. A good choice.
