Pours a clear golden yellow color with a slight orange tinge and thin foamy white head. Aroma is quite lackluster with pilsner malts and subtle hops. This is a crisp ale with a balance of malt and hops. Watered down and easy to drink. Could be refreshing on a hot day.

This is a special beer brewed only for a portion of each year. A percentage of the hop recipe is replaced with Danish porse (bog myrtle) which is a common herb used in Danish schnapps. They close the brewery for two weeks a year two pick the herb in the countryside and marshland.

Appearance: pale gold, great clarity, nice layer of yellowy-white foam with some lace, OK head retention

Aroma: grain husks, slight herbal quality, continental hops, yeast, cooked meat (?), slight twinge of skunk

Flavor: dry malt profile with a fair amount of graininess, blend of continental hop flavor and an herbal taste that must be due to the porse, faint twinge of cooked liver, finishes dryish with a lingering porse aftertaste

Mouthfeel: medium-light body, crisp, terse carbonation, slight warming sensation

Other comments: I'm familiar with the taste of porse from drinking Danish schnapps, but I don't taste much of it in this beer. Seems to me the flavor should be more pronounced considering the name of the beer. Also, that cooked liver flavor and aroma is a bit off-putting. I'm not sure if that is "intentional". Perhaps the yeast they used in this batch was a bit past it's prime or it sat to long on the dregs after it was finished fermenting.

The colour is medium yellow with a tint of gold. The two finger head is white and compact. The lacing is thick.

The smell is quite average for a pale euro lager; some sweet malt (a hint of honey?), some bitter-sour notes. Maybe some spicy touches, too…

I had expected more than I get from the taste: Quite standard pale euro lager: Semisweet malt, some anonymous bitterness with quite a lot of bread-like flavours and some alcohol. However, the aftertaste includes some spicy notes with a distant touch of Sweet Gale.

Carbonation and mouthfeel is by all means average.

This is one plain disappointment.

A: Has a gold appearance with good head at first but dwindles down to a thin ring. I experienced heavy lacing with my pour.
S: Smells similar to other Thisted beers I have tried. It is a fresh light malt smell with a strange hint of bitterness. There is a strange scent hidden in the beer.
T: The taste is interesting but not substantially great.
M: Medium - heavy carbonation with a medium filmy body.
D: Easy enough to drink, but will coat your mouth with a film making you want to spit.

This beer pours a gold. The head is thin but seems to be staying around without lacing. The aroma is a bit sour (I think it has a metallic smell). The taste is very light on the tongue and has a very clean aftertaste. The mouthfeel is a very bubbly and hoppy lager or pilsner. This is the least hoppy of the Thisted beers that I have had. It was a nice change.
