A: Rick dark brown color, almost black, with a frothy off white head. This looks more like a porter or stout than a brown ale.
S: Sweet roasted malt aroma. Hints of carmel, molasses and some light toasted bread.
T: Sweet carmel malt upfront, with hints of honey and molasses. Nice nutiness is prominent. balanced out by a nice hoppy finish.
M: Slight thin, with little carbonation. Almost watery.
D: There is nothing particularly special or unique about this beer, it's just a well made brown ale. True to they style, this is a nicely balanced brown ale.

Had it at the restaurant on tap in a pint glass.
Appearance- Muddy haze with very little foam retention.
Smell- Brown rice right there. Not intriguing, but a consistent prelude to the taste.
Taste- Lots of brown rice, a little brown sugar, especially in the aftertaste. Light for a brown ale and smooth. I am not normally a brown ale fan, but this one is really good even though it is solidly within the genre.
Mouthfeel- Smooth and pleasant and the taste lingers. You can savor this brown ale.
Drinkability- One of the more drinkable brown ales I've had. Could have a bunch in the summer without feeling full.
In short, a light brown ale that sneaks up on you because it doesn't look good but has a taste that hits a nice balance between malt and some nuance.

Poured a nice deep brown, ruby with gold highlights when held up to the light.
Not much head at all. Faded very quickly. The color and the lack of any lasting head reminds me of a soda.
Nothing to exceptional about the aroma.
Taste is very nice. Lots of earthy hop flavor and malt sweetness. Finishes with a touch of dryness.
Nice mouthfeel. Smooth, but not creamy. A touch thin.
I could easily drink this frequently, but I would not put it up as an excellent brown ale.

A-Clear ruby red brown.
S-Not much in the nose, some roasted malt.
T-A step up from the nose, roasted malt, caramel and some spices.
M-Medium bodied, with some carbonation.
O-A great brown ale, not the best in the Capital Region, CH Evans is better.

This beer is excellent. I love it as a brown ale, but that could be because of how fresh it was. I brought this bottle home and left it in my fridge until the night before the belgian beer festival when I popped the top and had some. It pours a really good looking brown with a nice caramel colored head. The aroma was of sweet roasted malts and very little hoppiness to it. It had almost a chocolatey hint to it, but I did not really taste that. What I did taste was excellent. It was crisp, clean, and I could really taste the roasted malts that captured my palate. Good aftertaste, but could probably use some more carbonation. If you're in Troy, NY, try this place and get this beer. Good stuff.

Pours brown with a thin head that soon disappears.
The smell is nutty with cocoa powder.
The taste is of candy-ish sweetness with chocolate and some brown sugar. Berry-like fruitiness in the back gives it a nice touch that works well. It has a nutty finish. Sweet, but balanced.
It has a firm medium body. Smooth. Pleasant aftertaste lingers on the palate.
A nice, "sessionable", brown ale that is characteristically malty - nice chocolatey sweetness, with a subtle hop balance. Quite a bit of character for a brown ale.

On Tap at the brewery in Troy, NY. Pours brown with long lived off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of nutty, caramel malt, dark fruit and hint of hops. Body is medium and smooth. Nutty, caramel malt, smoke, dark fruit and hint of hops combine on the palate. Finish is long and dry. Interesting session brew.

The beer pours a nice translucent brown color with a thick frothy tan head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is great. It has a smooth and creamy "brown" ale scent that boasts of crystal and chocolate malts. It sweet with some light hopping. The taste is good. It has a sweet and malty flavor that goes down easy and finishes dry. It has a lingering sweetness as well as a roasted malt quality. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a good brown ale. I love the aroma. I wish it was as rich and creamy as it smells like.

BeerTruth hooked me up with a bottle of this. Thanks my friend.
Pours a medium hued brown that's quite reddish, as well, and has good clarity. Some bubbles rise to meet about a finger and a half of light khaki colored head. Keeps a thin but full lace and does leave some stick.
Smell has some caramel malt sweetness, some nutty aromas and a bit of fruit. I wish there was a bit more here.
Taste at first is quite fruity and then gets to be a bit sweeter, with some caramel malt and some earthy, woodsy hop flavor. The finish has more of a nutty flavor along with a bit of hop bitterness and some roasted malt, too.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied but could be a bit sturdier. The carbonation could maybe be a bit softer, as well.
Pretty solid, easy drinking brown ale. My first from Brown's and it's a good one.

Was able to give this brew a try the other night while eating at Browns. Brew was presented in a standard pint glass with not much of a head, had some faint froth on top but was very light and lead to only a slight amount of lacing at the top. The aromas of this brew where pretty good, coffee and a slight charcoal smell is what I was able to pick up. The taste was pretty nice as well; the coffee tones seemed to really be present on the pallet, along with a roasted flavor that really makes it inviting. Over all this is a nice brew but probably my third favorite from the brew pub.
