Poured on-tap and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a pale yellow coloring with a filmy, frothy, white head. Nose of roasted grains. Clean smell. Great lacing along the glass. Flavors are heavily roasted, with a good dose of bitter hops on the end of the palate. Bitter, resiny aftertaste, with a slow lingering finish. Hops presence builds as you drink. Medium bodied. Decent brew.

A: Holy Gusher! About leaps out of the bottle. Pale straw and distinctly hazy with lots of little floaties. Odd for a pilsner. A crazy amount of active bubbles zinging to the immensely huge pillowy/fluffy white head of way large bubbles. Could not empty the bottle in three pours between wait for foam to settle. Over carbed? Gone Bad? Infection? Curtains of chunky lace.

S: Metallic lemon. Soured? Still, some pils malt behind that – a bit crackery with just a touch hint of sweetness and a ghost hint of diacetyl.

T: Pils malts are more noticeable, but thin. Crackery character with touch of candy sweetness & a ghostly bit of diacetyl. Hops are actually quite a bit more forward. Quite bitter. Herbal, grassy, & floral with a hint of mint and a bit of resin in the finish. Earthy yeast note. Background lemon is softer than nose, metallic – but not tart or sour of acidic. A fair palate, but not especially Pilsner in character.

M: Less than medium body, very attenuated. Surprisingly reasonable carbonation after the initial foam up. A bit gratingly dry from attenuation, hops and earthy yeast.

D: something went wrong here post bottling. Lemony nose, attenuated body, thinned out, oddly earthy and metallic, and with a hint of diacetyl. It is still fairly drinkable, but not really like a Pilsner. It is a bit off regardless of style. Still, it must have been pretty nice at one time to still be passable now.

A-Clear straw yellow, some lacing.

S-Bland, some alcohol with a little wheat.

T-Light, with some wheat, bland no bitterness.

M-Light with some carbonation.

O-Didn't care for it when I first had it about a year ago and still today I find it bland an unappealing.

I brought this beer back from their brewery so I decided to try it last night. Not bad (though I'm not a huge fan of pilsners). It poured a golden yellow with a nice white head that stuck to the sides of the glass. The aroma was decent. It smelled like hops, light malt, and had a hint of a fruity yeast like a german wheat yeast. The taste was pretty bland, but not bad. It had hints of malts and hops but mostly had a bland watery taste to it. The good thing was the beer has a nice mouthfeel and its aftertaste was very clean and refreshing. Overall worth a try, but I wouldn't have too many of these because Brown's makes some even more delicious beers.

A-pours a cloudy yellow golden color with a frothy white head
S-lots of hops, spicy, earthy, and a lemon citrus aroma.
T-more of the lemon and earthy flavor. Not alot of flavor coming through from the malt, just the malt sweetness keeps the hops in balance.
M-light to medium bodied
O-Very well balanced and the hops come through really nicely without getting overly bitter. Color could be more transparent but the head retention was awesome. Overall all a refreshing delicious brew

On Tap at the brewery in troy, NY. Pours golden with long lived white head. Aroma is of biscuit malt and hint of hops. Body is light and crisp. Nice amount of herbal hops balanced on the palate by biscuit malt. Finish is long and bitter. Well done pilsner.

The beer pours a hazy pale gold color with a 1/2" white head that fades to lacing. The aroma is decent. It has a light pale malt scent along with mild hopping and a dry lager yeast aroma. It seems a bit peppery. The taste is good. It has a very bitter flavor that boasts of pale malts and loads of Czech hops. It's light and smooth with a dry lager yeast finish. It has a bit of malt sweetness along with a grapefruit hop flavor. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a low bodied beer with adequate/good carbonation. This is a damn fine pilsner. It has a solid malt base with a tastey hop character; a good drinker.

Bomber purchased at brewpub for around $3.50 in march of 2011. Poured into 17oz pilsner glass.

Appearance - Golden body with active carbonation. Light haze. Dense white head with great retention and no shortage of lacing. Beautiful beer.

Smell - Doughy, bready malt with spicy and floral hop aromas. Good balance.

Taste - Sweet malt and floral notes up front with a nice bready base lead into spicy and grassy Saaz bitterness. Moderately long finish with lots of floral hops, dough, and an assertive hop bitterness.

Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied. Carbonation is both smooth and prickly.

Drinkability - Very drinkable. Loads of flowery hops that even lend some fruity flavors amid grassy bitterness. Both balanced and assertive. Solid brew.

Was able to give this brew a try last evening while having dinner at Browns. This was the daily beer special so I thought I would give it a try. The brew came to me having a nice look, clear golden color with a smallish white head that did not have great retention but did leave some lacing at the top of the glass. The aroma was very inviting with a clear Saaz hop scent that seemed to give it a light floral aroma that mixed very well with the sweet malt flavors. The taste was very smooth, nice flavor coming from the hops, again seeing the floral characteristics while also giving a slight snap; the sweet malt flavors give it a nice backbone that complements everything. The carbonation was quite good even though the head and retention was not great. This is a highly drinkable brew; I would imagine it being fantastic during the summer months sitting out on the deck overlooking the river … an idea for 6 or 7 months from now! Over all this was a pleasant surprise, one I will get again.

Another one enjoyed at the Troy brewpub, this pilsner shows a typical pale gold color, clear, with a fair white fuzz on top and solid lacing. The aroma has a fairly bright rice and wheat grain idea with a tasteful hint of skunk cabbage. A bit distinctive I think. The flavor suggests a very interesting blend of rice vinegar and skunky wheat and an herbal hop that really makes this a more unique and nice pilsner experience. It’s light bodied but respectable for the style with just enough polite carbonation to ensure a refreshing experience with a tingly, easy feel that doesn’t risk anything near watery. Very enjoyable and easy enough to recommend with its gentle hop presence.

Pours a pale yellow with a two-finger head that fades into my glass. Yep, it's certainly a pilsener.

Grainy malt with just a dash of hops in the nose. Subdued. Perhaps that is best in this case.

More of that grainy, sweet malt with the right touch of hops. Mmm. I'm thinking lightly-buttered bread here.

Mouthfeel is clean with nary a nagging aftertaste. Lingering buttered bread and sweet, grainy malt. Homer would be proud. *drool*

I like this example of the style. My first brew from Brown's and I could certainly go for another.

A - Pours a clear golden-yellow color with a finger of crisp white head. The head fades down to a spotty layer and a ring around the glass lacing fairly nicely.

S - Aroma has some bready malts and some light citrus (lemon peel) aromas. There is also just some hints of floral hops mixed in. A bit subtle.

T - Starts off with some bread malts and lemon flavors. Touch of hops in the background and a touch of wheat. Through the middle some deeper bread and other light fruits come through. The finish is a blend of the bread and lemon peal that lingers nicely.

M - Light bodied with moderate lively carbonation. Very smooth and fairly crisp without being watery. The finish is a bit dry.

D - Very drinkable. Smooth and fairly crisp. Couple use a bit more flavor overall, but what is there is interesting enough and well balanced.
