Cobblestone's is located in the former Knights of Columbus location a few blocks from the square opposite from the Post Office in York, Pennsylvania.
I arrived with my date on a Friday night at approximately 7pm to a moderately populated bar and dining room. We sat at the bar in decent view of the taps under the array of large screen televisions displaying sports programs of all types.
The bartender happened to be a former co-worker who greeted us and took our drink order moments after taking our seats. The tap selection included Stoudt's DIPA, Rogue Chocolate, Chimay, Dogfish head 90 min, Bell's Two Hearted, Blue Point, Troeg's Nugget Nectar among other Macro and Imports.
EDIT - I have returned twice since and received good service from James and others and it seems the emphasis on being familiar with the beer menu has improved. I found the quality to be slightly better and will probably come back soon since the tap selection is better than I remember with some belgians and more seasonals.
Our food order was placed and received in a timely manner. I ordered a Mushroom Veggie Gouda wrap, while my date order a Turkey avacodo with sundried tomato wrap with waffle cut fries. I had a side order of Jamaican jerk hot wings that were sufficiently spicy. The food was served hot ( the wraps were cold) and was flavorful. The menu had nice descriptions of style and taste profiles for the unfamiliar. Victory, Stone and Sierra Nevada were also available. A patron complained about the flavor of her Hoegarden white ale while were there and management handled it gracefully replacing the glass with another product.
The atmosphere changed slightly in the time we spent. It has a gymnasium/sports bar feel and tended to be loud and smokey at times, but not unbearable. The jukebox was stocked with a decent selection and you could not direct your attention in any direction without seeing a Tv. The bartenders seemed slightly distracted as the bar began to fill up, but remained attentive.
The option for house recipe martinis and wings seemed like a nice touch. Dinner Specials were slightly high priced but overall the food seemed like a decent value. Drafts were reasonably priced with bottles comparable in value. I enjoyed my visit since I live about a mile and a half from the establishment and it has about the best draft selection in the county. I have walked home after a rousing session of Karaoke upstairs at Cobblestone's, and most likely I will return.

I've visited here a number of times over the last few years as it is about 30 minutes from my home. They often have beers that I'm interested in, including some hard to find ones. For example, they had Sierra Nevada's Beer Camp #29 (Ghidorah) on-tap, which is the only place I've ever seen it.
Just this past week I was able to get growlers of Jolly Pumpkin Bam and Troegs Perpetual IPA.
They have about ~60 taps. Service has been friendly and if you get a chance to meet and talk to Dan, do so as you'll be chatting with a fellow that can brew himself and talks knowledgeably about craft beers. In fact, Cobblestones is trying to get a license from the city of York to do on-premise brewing, which Dan would lead.
This isn't your typical city bar. The room is cavernous, dimly lit with big screen TVs (with no volume - thankfully) and good rock music playing over the speakers. There's a balcony level too. They have happy hours and weekend specials.
They do a good job of keeping the on-tap beers updated on their website although their web master could get-busy and format it differently so it is easier to read.
Check it out if you get a chance. I think you'll enjoy it.

Cobblestones seems to be some sort of old ballroom or something, really big and lots of booth seating and a huge bar. I prefer a dive bar atmosphere so this isn't so comfortable to me, this seems more of a place to get a mediocre meal and drink pitchers of bud light, but they do have a pretty great micro selection.
This place seems to have the best overall selection in York, which I guess really isn't saying much. They have different nights with discounted growler fills on Troegs, Stoudts, Rogue, and I believe LBC now, which is the only reason I've ever gone.
The bartenders don't really know too much about all the different styles, which seems to be par for the course around here.
They have a good amount of beer on tap but since a great deal of people frequenting the place only buy macros, a lot of the microbrew kegs can be active well past their prime and I've had a few bad experiences with that.
The bottle selection is pretty decent, and is the only reason I've ever tried an Old Rasputin which was pretty awesome.
As for food, it sucks and is overpriced, but I don't go to bars for food anyway...

A: Stopped in on a Friday night. There were plenty of people there, but since the place is so big it did not seem like it was overly busy. A long big horseshoe shaped bar, ample seating. Lots of tables and booths all around the place and upstairs. There are pool tables, trivia, a few other games, and plenty of TV's.
Q: Based on the beers I had, there were no problems.
S: The service was just fine. The bartenders were for the most part knowledgable and friendly and quite prompt.
S: There are tons of beers on tap. 60+ beers on tap, lots of local selection, pa beers and others from around the country and world. There are also plenty of bottles.
F: It is your typical bar food type, nothing stand out here, but nothing bad. You come here for the beer not the food IMO.

a nice spacey place, room to breathe. I've eaten here a few times nothing special but it is definitely not bad. I make a trip here once a month to get a sampler(6) of the new beers. the price of the sampler varies, depending on what you get. cobblestones has the largest selection in york and they keep a heavy rotation of draft and bottled beer. the only downfall of the place is just like most places in york, the patrons are not very socialable. all in all if you are within 50-75 miles of the place you should surely check it out.

The best place in York to get a quality beer. Basically a big sports bar, with lots of TV's and pool tables. The food is decent, the waitstaff average, the bartenders usually will let you sample a draft beer before buying.
The real highlight of this place is the beer list. They have a pretty impressive list of draft and bottled beer that seems to turn over fairly often. There is a good mix between PA craft brews (Troegs, Weyerbacher, Lancaster, Victory) and other US craft brews (Stone, Boulder, Lagunitas, Oskar Blues, Rogue), and a few imports, plus the usual macros. Chances are good you will find something new to interest you. For instance, last time I was pleasantly surprised to see bombers of Port Brewing High Tide Fresh Hop IPA.
My biggest complaint on the last trip was that two of my glasses did not seem to be properly rinsed, there was a bit of a soapy smell/taste. So if you order a bottled beer I would recommend giving your glass a sniff before pouring.
Considering the limited choices in York, this is a pretty decent place that is worth a visit.

York is my old stomping grounds and Cobblestone's represents the best of what's around.
Atmosphere: The place is huge, spread out over two levels with pool tables and televisions galore. The place is a ghost town during the day but a madhouse at night, especially on weekend nights. If you're looking for a veritable meat market with a nice tap line-up, head here!
Quality: Cleanliness is not a problem but tap turnover can be. Overall though, there is nothing to complain about.
Service: The waitstaff, while harried, does a decent job. I've never had an order severely screwed up, nor has the wrong beer arrived in front of me. Can't speak to the bartenders, as I've never ponied up to the bar.
Selection: Nice draft selection, with a whole slew of micros, including the entire local line-up (varying from Victory to Troegs to Lancaster to Stoudt's), along with a nice domestic line-up that has included DFH, Anchor and Bells (thanks, I'm sure, to Westy's).
Food: Pub grub mostly with some entrees that rise above. This is a good place to order a few plates of nachos and wings and have some good beers.
Value is reasonable, especially when there aren't any other alternatives in York.

Arrived early on a Saturday afternoon. The establishment was virtually empty and we were told to seat ourselves. The building is pretty nice. It looks like an old theater that has been converted into a bar. The wautress arrived promptly and presented us with a food and beer menu. The bottle ant tap selection were definitely above average. It is getting more difficult to find eating places within 45 minutes of home that have new beers for me to try, but thos place suceeded. Our drink order was served and our food order taken. The beers were great, and the food was also tasty, and reasonably priced. My suggestion to you if you would like to visit this place is to do it for lunch, because it looks like it torns into a wild macro bar at night.
