Poured from 22oz bomber into a dimpled mug. This is the 2012 Oktoberfest and is 6.25% ABV according to the label.

Appearance: rich golden-orange hue with a crystal clear body and a decent effervescence. Head pours two fingers of frothy ivory foam. Looks good like an Oktoberfest should.

Smell: autumnal aroma of toasty malt and a lightly fruity yeast character. The combination is actually working for me.

Taste: lightly toasty malt character with that same yeasty, fruity backdrop. Perhaps it's my mood, but I am liking this despite my normal flavor preferences. I dig it.

Mouthfeel: light body with a big carbonation and a mammoth, if evanescent, creaminess. Quite good.

Overall: a solid Oktoberfest. It's got a bit more banana-ey, yeasty character than most, but for me it really works.

Appearance – Dark brown in color with a decent head.

Smell – The aroma here is subtle but definitely leaning on the sugary side. The one-dimensional smell of sweetened malts, demanded by the style, comes out nicely.

Taste – Yes, very sugary at the tongue. The lightly-toasted malt is almost overridden by the sugary caramel. This one is nice.

Mouthfeel – Somewhat thin (a notch above light-bodied but not medium) which is typical of the style. I would have liked to have seen a bit more creamy smoothness here, but this felt good enough.

Drinkability – Oktoberfest and macaroni & cheese? I’m giving it a try tonight. This one is very pleasant and would go with just about any lighter meal.

Received as a 0.26 gallon growler as part of a trade with RoyalT.

Poured a clear amber in color. Very thick and sticky off-white head really laces the glass nicely. Nose of sweet malt, spices, and a bit of hops. Flavor is more of the same, with the sweetness dominating. Not bitter at all. Very well-balanced. Finishes just ever so slightly dry and semi-sweet. Mouthfeel is very smooth, medium-bodied, with a coating of the palate. Extremely drinkable, this beer screams "session" and was a pleasure to sample. Easily one of the better O-fest beers I've had. I could see this being consumed during college football on a crisp fall day.

Huge thanks to RoyalT for this splendid offering.

On tap at Silver City Brewing. Also in a bomber.

Pours a medium amber. Good lacing.

Smells very malty. Very little hop aroma.

Mouth feel is smooth and a little thick.

Taste is classic German Oktoberfest. Very drinkable, balanced.

If you haven't had this Oktoberfest recently, it has changed. The reciepe has been tweeked. Reports say brewmaster visited Germany and decided to make some changes. Well Done!

22oz bottle into a weizen glass. Pours a beautiful deep reddish amber with a big fluffy off-white head, vigorous carbonation, good lacing.

Aroma is fruity, malty, and bready. A little muted compared to my benchmark Oktoberfest, Ayinger, but smell is clean and crisp.

Taste leads off with a slightly grainy malt quality, along with deeper caramel notes. Fruity, bready, balanced, but the coarse graininess is distracting.

Mouthfeel is medium-bodied, balanced, with a crisp finish.

Overall a pretty good traditional Märzen.

This stuff is sweet but satisfying. It tastes more like a pumpkin brew than the real thing. Dark yellow gold in the Stella Artois goblet. Not much head but plenty of spritz in the mouthfeel.

Tangy enough to balance the sugars. Malty and solid. Warm roasted taste with something like sweet potato pie. The burr of bitterness finishes the flavors. This is a classic flavor profile I wish I could describe better. It's sweet and malty but sharpened up by a winey, dark taste in the back of the malt. Not much hop flavor but a resiny tang.

More interesting than the average Oktoberfest. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Haggen's Market in Burlington, Wash.

2008 version served on tap at the brewery's biergarten in a plastic cup (I almost shuddered).

Appearance: reddish brown with a thin head

Smell: malty, hops, sweet

Taste: hops, malts, yeasty, fruity

Overall, I was not impressed with this marzen. It felt like the brewer was in a rush to put out a product this year. It didn't even hold a candle to Paulaner's Marzen

A: Pours a clear orangish color, decent sized head...good lace down the glass
S: Smell is sweet and malty...somewhat earthy scent
T: Taste is sweet and malty, finishes with a slight sour/fruity taste.
M: Medium mouthfeel carbonation seems just right to me.
D: Pretty decent Oktoberfest...I've had much better but overall I would buy this again.

Appearance is bronze with a tan head

Smell is faint, light sweetness.

Taste is sharp, a mix of ethanol (listed as 6.25% on the label), yeast and spicy hops. It picks up some bready notes well. Too sharp, tangy.

Mouthfeel is dry, very sharp, medium bodied.

Drinkability isn't to high, this beer is just way too sharp for me, pretty much below average across the board.

Serving type - Bottle poured into

A - Pours a clear, amber-copper color, with minimal, off-white head retention and lacing.

S - Smell is of grainy malts, caramel, spices, and honey

T - Taste is of caramel malts, cinnamon, honey, and spicy hops

M - Body is the heavy side of light/light side of medium. Moderate carbonation.

D - This one is definitely quite sessionable. A bomber makes for a nice nightcap, but I could easily have more.

Overall - A pretty nice Oktoberfest. Not my personal favorite that I've tried, but that's probably just the fact that spicy hops isn't so much for me in a Marzen. Good nonetheless though!

A: Pours a clear, glowing dark orange with good carbonation and a nice frothy white cap

S: Smell is Earthy, a little caramel, nuts but pretty tame

T: Taste is Caramel, very Earthy, grainy and unpleasant. Like some nuts, caramel and lightly toasted bad bread. Nothing about this beer screamed tasty and it was one of the least favority Okto beers I have had

M: Light to medium body, taste was all over the place, not so pleasant
overall not a good oktoberfest, another missed attempt by silver city.

O: Off the mark

22oz bottle poured into a pint glass. My bottle says 6.25%, not 6.00% as the site currently shows.

Pours clear, medium head, lots of carbonation, orangey-amber color. Smell is wheaty and full.

Taste is good. Lagery, slightly sweet, bready, a little yeasty, not such a strong lagery tang as I notice in a lot of lagers (which means this is probably not terribly true to style, but I still like it).

Mouthfeel is light and smooth. Overall, I like this beer.
