Pretty pour. Rich amber, good white head, decent retention.

Not a particularly memorable aroma. Some bread malt, some citrus hops, some mint almost?

Hmm... I have a hard time pinning the flavour down. There's elements of citrus rind spice, some earthiness, some mint even.
Lightly carbonated, it's smoothe and drinkable.
An interesting IPA. In this current era of super hoppy NW IPAs, it doesn't stand out in that regard, but it is tasty. I think people would see it more favourably if it said APA than IPA, which just speaks to peoples preconceptions. It's a solid, enjoyable beverage, just not on par with some of the world class IPAs that can come out of the area (669 characters)

Copper color, small head; fades quickly. Decent lacing. Smells pretty standard. Taste follows- perfectly balanced, really. Maybe too balanced if I can say such a thing. Well carbonated. Medium bodied. This is a really consistent and reliable ipa. (246 characters)

Appearance. Pours a hazy orange-gold with almost a finger of just off-white head that leaves some nice lacing.

Smell. Toasty grains and citrus hops.

Taste. Nice citrus fruits and rinds, toasted grains, some bitterness but nothing excessive.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with medium-low carbonation.

Overall. Nice easy drinking ipa. Was surprised to read the abv is this high. (376 characters)

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a one finger, f fine, off-white head with excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, light grassy hops, hints of apple juice and tropical fruit. Flavor is rich caramel malt with notes of light stone fruit and citrus, hops are subdued but of the fruit and mild citrus variety rather than intense herbal bitterness. Hops are not that noticeable in the taste, but leave a long grassy bitterness in the finish. A very pleasant creamy body with great mouth feel. An aberration in NW IPAs, with nowhere near the hop aggessiveness I'd expect, but very enjoyable as a malty, creamy old fashioned IPA. I'd put the profile closer to a classic red ale for the malty body and less intense hops, but this is one ale that wins me over despite not toeing the contemporary style line. Not what I'd go for if I was in the mood for a hop bomb, but I will absolutely buy this again. I've admired this brewery's Scotch style ales in the past and will add this one to my list to watch for. (1,058 characters)

A - Bright copper color, hazy and effervescent, with dense cream colored head and some nice lacing.

S - Sublte but distinct notes of citrus (lemon rind and a hint of grapefruit) and pine with sweet malt.

T - Hop forward with a smooth meld of pine sap and citrus rinds. Toasted grains lays a nice bed for the hops to float above. Bitterness is present but held well in check.

M - Moderate body which hangs just short of "coating." Carbonation is very nice with an abundance of tiny champagne-like bubbles.

O - A nice standard IPA. Very easy drinking and enjoyable. I'd call it an every day IPA if it were readily available. (629 characters)
