Silver City is one of our favorite restaurants. Good, Cold Beer. Family friendly and some of the consistently great service I've ever experienced.

Beer- award winning and a nice robust selection. The mash tuns are enclosed in glass - this is a real working brewery. The beer is very cold and very fresh. I can always find one I want to have (again).

Atmosphere - Casual, polished wood, loud. Bar is has a 4-5 TVs. There are a few TV scattered throughout the rest of the place, but you never get the feel it's a sports-bar. Especially since these are offset by the 1920s European beer posters that frame one of the dining areas. There's an upstairs loft. Overall, very nice and upscale without being pretentious or having the slightest air of a stuffy establishment. Very family friendly. They have a selection of hand held games for the kids to play with while they wait for a table, or their food (you can take the games to the tables). The kid menu is actually a bit more robust (relatively) than the adults (see below). Our three can always find something they agree to eat (then they actually do). That's sayin' something (if you have kids you understand).

Quality - The food is FANTASTIC. I try something new each time and it's always good; even when I'm not a big fan of the ingredients. The chefs have it down. Good burger (see below), good fish, pasta, salads, REALLY good soups, great appetizers.

Service - 5 star, 5 diamond, if it can be rated, it's TOPS. I have NEVER left unhappy with the service. Though the wait can be long on occasion, I never felt ignored or forgotten. The wait staff have "Onagi" (see Friends) or are Jedi padawans...whatever - they seem presentient at anticipating your needs. The drinks are full, but you never feel intruded upon. Your orders are taken in a timely manner no matter how busy they are. Your food arrives promptly. I could go on. Suffice it to say, that if you leave unhappy, then YOU are the problem not them and you should seek professional counseling.

Selection - the only beef I have with them. They have one exceptional burger, but just one. There are 4 (I think) pasta dishes - all stupendous. A few salads, a few soups, a few more appetizers - overall, I think the menu needs to be expanded by about 10-20%. I have no doubt they can come up with a few more great dishes.

Food - guess what I'll say...Of course! It's great. Never met a Silver City dish that I didn't think was very well prepared, and I'm a cook. The dishes are creative without being flamboyant. They are infinitely eatable and delicious. The flavors are subtly balanced. Things are always cooked just right. Their sauces, sides and serving are always perfect compliments. Even the fries (I'm not a fry fan) are tasty. You hnestly can't go wrong. Close you eyes and let your pet chimp chose your meal. You'll like it.

Value - Items range from $9-high $20s for entrees. Appetizers are around $10ish. Entree soups/salads ~$10. **but they are LARGE portions** I usually take some home (and I'm 6'4", 230lbs).

Bottom line - you will be happy if you go here. Aside from sampling some really good beers, you'll love the foods, be happy with the service, your spawn will be happy, you'll wish you lived here just for this brewery/restaurant

Overall mediocre. Likely the best in town but.... Out of the sampler I found one that was decent. Food was good though.

Great beer but not a huge selection. They do offer growlers and 22 oz bottles. Food is good but again not a huge selection. Not a lot of parking but a good amount of room in restaurant. Never had to wait for a table. Highly recommended.

Second time here recently and still very much enjoyed the visit. Has a good size inside and out for seating. We sat outside in the fence patio area. Servers were very attentive and had good speed to get to all their tables on a busy Friday night. Made some really good pairing suggestions. Beer was just what I wanted, a Tripel and Scotch, both of which were perfect for the rather warm night. Flatbread appetizer was very good, it's also very big so bring a friend. Burger was really good. And the brownie desert was really tasty too. It is a little expensive but it is all very good (at least to me). If you're in Silverdale, make a stop for sure.

They are always busy. They have moved the brewing facility out of the restaurant portion which is a little disappointing however they have open up more space for guests. Changed the environment some. Food is really good, just which they kept more of their Octoberfest/German style food on the menu rather than just September.

I wish I could remember the name of my server, a thin tall, long dark haired, 20 something woman who had to deal with the rude guy next to me speaking of vile innuendo. The whole time she was very professional to me and focused. Other than that guy, the atmosphere was as good as can be for a brewpub near a mall... chatted with a guy originally from the Flint, Michigan area and his girlfriend. The beers were solid, although I like their porter more. Selection was standard fare for the most part, although they did have couple of special taps. I would stop here again if in the area, as there seems to be quality people in the area. On a trip the only thing better than good beer is good people.

The atmosphere of this place is kindof weird. There is nothing funky about it...if you didn't know you might think its a chain brewpub. Its located right next to the Kitsap mall with a host of other "chain" places right beside it. And the building itself has the same sort of feel to it. That being said however this place is certainly not a chain. And the quality of everything here is pretty decent. Their beers are kind of hit and miss to me. Some are real good and some just so so. The ones that I like are the FAT (scottish ale) and the Bavarian Hef. Their pale ales and IPA's however did nothing for me. Their food is real good had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes both were excellent. Pretty good place overall if you can get past the cookie cutter chain atmoshpere.

Next to a mall so you get a mall crowd and atmosphere. It is in Silverdale so you get lots of bad military haircuts. The place has a very Rock Bottom and RAM like feel to it as soon as you walk in. i could instantly tell this was not a craft beer place and I was correct. Food was good but overpriced. A $28 steak at a brewpub in Silverdale? Seriously? Ummm NO! The service was average, not much beer knowledge except what is written for them on the menu. Selection is 6 standards and 2 guest. The house beers ranged from below average to one being good. The beers were were not craft and tasted like a Rock Bottom brew at best. Food was good enough. Overall, I was highly disappointed in this place and will not recommend it to a serious BA.

atmosphere is a big box filled with seats.

service was good, typical for a brewpub, you can tell that the people enjoy working there.

selection was fine, they had there typical 6 plus two that were not there normal seasonals, no stouts, or porters at the time.

food was tasteless, had the calimari (no taste) the boston chowder (is that new england) tasted processed, and not as good as ivars processed chowder, the ribeye - cowboy style was not that tasty, kid had the El Diablo pizza that was not hot or spicy, and rather bland, wife had duck which was the only item that had flavor...

overall not impressed at all with the food nor the beer, skip this place, just because it is the only brewpub on the kitsap pennisula does not mean that it is good.

I visited the Silver City Brew Pub while traveling through the Kitsap Peninsula with my wife. We stopped at Silver City for lunch.

Atmosphere is an industrial theme, with large exposed wood posts, and steel beams. It can be a noisy place. especially when it is busy at lunch. There are two levels with a lot of table seating, and a modest bar area n one side.

Quality is good. The craft brews are quite good, as is the food.

Service was quite good considering how busy they were. I also ordered a half dozen bombers to go, and they brought them to the table very quickly.

Selection consists of 6 regulars brews, 4 seasonal selections and 4 guest taps. The guest taps are apparently to make up for low production during a remodel of the brewery, which was ongoing while we were there. There are also macros, wines and cocktails, along with fresh brewed root beer and ginger ale.

Food as stated before was good. There was a nice selection of sandwiches salads and such. The menu reminded a little bit of a Red Robin or TGIF restaurant.

Value was just OK for what you get. $10 lunches, sandwich and salad or fries. Pints were a bit pricey in my book at $5.50 each. Bombers to go at $5.42.

I enjoyed lunch at Silver City, and I would certainly go back again. I would love to spend more time there, especially if I could find a time when it wasn't crowded.

I have been living in the area for about five years and discovered Silver City Brewing Co. almost immediately upon coming here. From top to bottom, this brew pub is of the highest quality. The food is always fresh and served in a reasonable time. There is sometimes a wait to get in to a table, but the fare makes it all worthwhile. The staff is there to help you with selecting the best choice in food and their extraordinary beers. On that note, they are an award winning brewery as well. They brew some 25 different beers thought the years. Some are seasonal and some are standard for all seasons. If you are ever in the Silverdale, WA area it behooves of you to stop buy for good food and better beer.

Maybe I just came at a slow time (brewing-wise), but considering some of the excellent Silver City beers I've had in the past over at Collin's Pub, I was a bit disappointed with my experience here.

The brewpub is located in the Silverdale Mall, and frankly it has kind of mall restaurant feel to it. By that I mean it has something of a TGIF feel, with high ceilings, flat screen TV's (three of them) and a high energy sort of vibe. Frankly, there is a distinct plastic/formica feel to the place. The brewpub was pretty crowded the Saturday afternoon I visited, but fortunately I was able to snag a seat at the bar. Was still full from breakfast, so I didn't get anyting to eat, but the menu seemed to suggest a fairly typical pub grub selection, perhaps a cut above that (the guy next to me had the salmon with asparagas and garlic mashed potatoes). As I was at the bar, service was generally pretty good, despite the crowd. As for the beer selection, I have to say I was pretty disappointed. I liked the fat, IPA and hefeweizen, but was less thrilled with the Red, pale ale and gold. The seasonal ESB was drinkable, but by the same token was nothing special. I got the 6 beer sampler, which included the 6 house beers and the ESB for $7.25.

I'm glad I had the opportunity to visit Silver City, but am not sure I can think of any reason to go back. I didn't see any bottled beers that looked particularly interesting to take home, and the draft selection was pretty unimpressive. In addition to the house beers, they also had a lambic and miller lite.

From now on I think I'll stick to getting my Silver City fix at Collin's and the Uber in Seattle.

Edit from 7/14. Stopped by for the first time since 08, and if ever a place merited an update review, it's this place. The layout has been completely changed (as you walk in now, you'll see the bar area to in front of you, in the back; the place has a darker, cooler look and vibe, and the dining area seemed considerable smaller, but with an upstairs area now), and I really like the "new" look to the place. On this day they had something like 11 or 12 beers on tap (with several brewery only options), and quality was pretty high across the board. The food menu was more interesting as well, with a lot more options. Everything we got was really good (popcorn shrim, fries, etc.), and some of the stuff we ordered was teffific (the cajun aoili was a show stopper). Even my beer hating GF was impressed, and we both agreed it won't be another 6 years before we stop by again. Impressive (though I still don't understand the need to pour miller lite on tap here)

There is really only one reason I stop in at Silver City, the Fat Bastard Scotch Ale. A really fine beer. The other beers are just ok, not bad, but certainly not exceptional.

The place is usually packed, quite a few families with children. The bar area is not that large, and not really separated from the family friendly area.

Service is pretty good, they do seem to care about giving good service, a plus for a place as busy as Silver City.

Food is so-so, and overpriced. The pizzas are ok, the Rueben is a joke. The burgers are decent, but once again, not outstanding. Frankly I have given up on eating there.

Take your wife to the mall, and have a Fat Bastard at the bar ( if you can find a seat). Not really much else to recommend here, unless TGIF's is your idea of a good time.

When driving to this place, I totally would have expected an Applebees, Ruby Tuesday, TGI Friday or some other chain located next to a mall.
However, I was pleasantly surprised by this place. It seemed popular. Business was hopping the whole time I was there.

It was an attractive place. Clean and well appointed. Even though it was busy, I didn't have to shout to be heard. Nice menus, the food looked good, though I didn't try any. They had around a dozen beers on tap, a pretty wide representation of beer styles, American-style heavy. It seems like they care about their beer and their customers.

As a customer myself, I was pretty well taken care of. The bartender was friendly and helpful. They willingly gave me and my friend a couple samples. I noticed a couple things I wasn't totally impressed with, though. The bartenders spilled a lot of beer, not trying too hard for good, efficient pours. Also, I noticed that the pitchers they poured were frozen. Is that a common practice? Minor gripes, overall a good service experience.

Twelve beers or so seemed like decent selection to me. It didn't blow me away, but there were at least a few beers I was interested in. They have a rotating seasonal list. Strangely, a stout was the current seasonal when I visited in August.

Check this place out if you're on the Kitsap peninsula! Hopefully I'll be back again.

This was my second visit. The building is very nice with the shiny fermenters and various tanks fully visible from the dining room and bar. Their beer is very good (despite the stupid names) with a wide variety of seasonals and year rounds. Fat (aka Fat Bastard; Wee Heavy) and Whoop Ass IPA (Double IPA) are my favorites and world-class. The food is good though not mind blowing. My one complaint is the fact that there are very few vegetarian options on the menu.

Very nice brewpub and a must stop if you are in the area.

Ten percent of Silverdale is a charming village with nature trails, parks, and a public marina. The other 90% is a galaxy of shopping centers, strip malls, and car dealers, orbiting even more shopping centers, strip malls, and car dealers. Silver City Restaurant and Brewpub roosts at the nexus of this asphalt shopping scheme within the perimeter of the Kitsap Mall. There's plenty of parking in the area, but traffic is so bad you'll make better time walking.

But if you make the effort - and you certainly should - you'll be rewarded with top quality food, beer, and service. Silver City is home to two local legends - Fat Strong Scotch Ale (formerly known as Fat Bastard) and Whoop Pass imperial IPA - plus they brew an inspired, full flavored porter. Though one ale (the pale) didn't do it for me and the house yeast strain can at times be intrusive, their full lineup makes for an evening (or two)'s enjoyment and they are well stocked in beers to go.

Thankfully, the atmosphere at Silver City is a respite from its neighboring shopping mall environment. The interior is roomy with minimal ornamentation, contemporary styling, and good spatial separation. The bar is classy and stocked with rare hooch. There's an upstairs dining loft, an outdoors patio, and the service - I've never had better. Silver City earns my highest marks for service. The place hums like a beehive and it's common to see people lined up waiting outdoors to be seated during peak dining hours - even on weeknights. Yet the team never misses a beat. On each of the four nights I visited, waiters, bartenders, and assorted hosts and managers were fleet footed, respectful, and genuinely friendly. One night near closing time the bartender passed around a sampling tray of smoked salmon from a fish he had recently caught. I couldn't believe it; the bartender was tipping me.

Brewing occurs in a large facility behind glass off the main dining area. Six regular and three seasonal beers are offered though one or two are likely to be unavailable. There are no cask ales and guest taps are limited to a framboise lambic and Swiller Light. A VIP club is quite popular with the locals. You'll notice them drinking from distinctive skinny mugs holding 23 ounces apiece. If you join the club, you may gain access to private reserves of specialty beers not served to the general public.

The food is commendable and it's rare to be served a meal so quickly by people who aren't wearing paper hats. Be advised that house policy limits customers to four drinks per evening. Don't tell the boss they broke the rules for me.

When I first moved into the area just over a year ago, many coworkers told me to check it out. I take my wife there for dinner with a nice beer (now keep in mind this is a small town). I'm utterly impressed with the atmosphere, because the "Beerworks" motif is an open display of these guy's appreciation for beer and their craft. About a dozen of their own taps, as well as a Framboise Lambic on tap. Their sampler was truly well set up with a strong finish for their ever popular Fat Bastard. I chose to have a Naval reenlistment ceremony right next to the largest tank with Don's, the Head Brewer, permission of course. If you're in the area definitely stop in and enjoy one.
