Based on an English style brown with a decidedly American Twist. A medium body carries flavors of biscuit and caramel while a distinct hop bitterness prevails in the finish.

From bottle, Christmas Eve at the Rocks.
Aroma is pine with some oatmeal.
Taste is bready, and pine woody, Ash finish. Good balance, though not as smooth as would like.

Presentation: 12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass.
Look: Hazy red brown color with a one finger tan head. Good head retention.
Smell: Mostly malts pervaded by the bright , fresh scent of the hops.
Taste: Follows the nose. Clean malts up front followed by hop bitterness.
Feel: Medium body, plenty of carbonation, and a semi-dry finish from the hop oils.
Overall: A good beer. Nice change of pace from the spiced holiday ales.

12 oz. bottle into a tulip glass.
A--Hazy, not opaque, brown. Full tan head that faded away to a light skim on top. Left good lacing.
S--Malty with a bit of chocolate.
T--Follows the nose; malty and chocolatey. Not as much hoppiness as I was led to expect.
M--Nice. Full of carbonation. Completely coats the mouth.
O--Pretty good, but nothing I'd go too far out of my way for.

Poured from bottle into a 1 pt. ale glass. Clear amber color with a 3-finger tan head. Head dissipated rather quickly with minimal lacing. A definite caramel flavor and just the right amount of hops. Much less than I expected based on the name "Hoppy Brown Ale".

From the bottle, it pours a ruby brown with a nice fluffy head. Citrus and malt in the nose. Some malt and a more of hops in the mouth. Pleasant enough in the mouth.
