picked up a few bottles of this mysterious stout a few months ago at the magic hat brewery, but didnt have the heart to open one until tonight. In a word: Beautiful. It poured pitch black with an impressively thick light brown head. Smell was mild at first, but with a little spin some lovely coffee, chocolate, berry and charcoal aromas surfaced. Taste was delicious, like a big piece of EXTREMELY rich chocolate cake with rasberry lingering just behind. Being a somewhat mild, medium bodied stout, it was very drinkable. Ive had this brew before and have to say that it is one of my favorites, however this seasons batch seemed to be lacking a bit in the amount of rasberry in comparison to other years. Even so, the berry complements the stout and is still a damn tasty choice for any time of year.
