Poured from a "3/4 Pint" bottle into a half-liter beer glass for optimum enjoyment.
Appearance: Beer is a dirty blonde/murky golden color with very heavy carbonation visible through the glass. Head is a soft-white color with decent retention. No lacing on the sides of the glass.
Smell: Very yeasty...slight lemon-zest aroma and a very subdued sweetness. Not a lot of hop presence here...not yet, anyway.
Taste/Mouthfeel: Pungent, off-bitterness which gets worse and worse as the beer sits on the tongue. Too yeasty for me, I am not impressed. The balance of flavor is too far off on this one. The active-looking carbonation is almost undetectable on the palate, and the beer slides down the throat like a molded jello dessert.
Drinkability: Not for me...but maybe someone likes feeling like they have a yeast infection of the mouth.
Too bad there are three of these in my sampler pack. Should have saved an extra #9 to wash this down with. Oh well, lesson learned, I suppose.
