Notes/Commercial Description:
A toast to weeds, rays, and summer haze. It was a light, crisp ale for mowing lawns, hitting lazy fly balls and communing with nature, Hocus Pocus was offered up as a summer sacrifice to cloudless days. Its malty sweetness finished tart and crisp and was best appreciated with a wedge of orange.

This pours a clear, yellow straw color with a thin, beige head. The aroma is of wheat and lemon zest. The taste is a watered down lemon, wheat beer. The after taste is slightly tart and a little off-putting. The texture is thin with not much happening. Not terrible but this could be better!

Poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: An opaque yellow gold with a thick white head that quickly dissipates to a lacing.

Smell: Not very strong, mostly wheat, some lemon.

Taste: A refreshing crisp. Wheat is dominant, then some sweetness.

Mouthfeel: Light and easy to drink.

Overall: Not a bad beer overall. Definitely a good summer beer and easy to drink.

12 oz. bottle, with some sort of bottling code on the bottleneck. A new summer seasonal wheat ale from Magic Hat.

Poured into a Duvel tulip glass.

A - It pours a nice clear amber-orange colored body with about a finger of frothy white head. Minimal thin lacing, but not much sticks to the glass. Looks nice for what it is.

S - The smell is pleasant enough; lightly grainy, lightly fruity in the vain of Magic Hat #9 - some apricot, lemon zest, and herbal grassy qualities.

T - The taste is mostly dry herbal graininess, wheat, & some lemongrass. Bready honeyed malt and a dry papery / grainy finish.

M - The feel is crisp, clean, grainy, and dry. Some honey sweetness lingering on the palate, which is nice.

Overall, it is a decent enough take on the style - the honey makes a nice addition, and the moderately low 4.50% abv makes this beer light enough to be sessionable. A nice summer beer that I would have again.
