After enjoying Magic Hats HIPA so much I was excited to take the leap of faith and try this one. I really enjoy the artistry Magic Hat puts into their labels and packaging, they always POP! KAPOW!
Poured oh-so-nice into my frosty pint glass. Even came complete with a full foamy head. The first thing that really captured my awe was the color - a beautiful burnt copper, you could almost taste it just from appreciating the hue. Make sure you take the a moment to let that color burn into your brain.
In my amateur opinion I found the aroma lacking. I wanted to smell those cascade hops. I was expecting to get lost in a magical forest of spear toting hop Satyrs.
The taste was something special, and lets be real- that's what its about. Great, hoppy taste without going overboard and making me chew my IPA. There was a mild fruitiness too, like white grapefruit. Its subtle but its there. The bitterness is there and gone in an instant, making you want to have another pull. Oh and its 6%! Take those pants off champ.
I would recommend this to my customers who want to explore the winding alpha-acid-road that is IPAs. Hell I'd recommend it to anyone.
