Pours a crystal clear golden straw color with an initial 2 finger eggshell white head that fades fast to a ring. Spotty lacing.
Doesn't really smell like a pale ale, and I'm wondering why they bill it as such on the bottle. I think the bros got it right labeling this a fruit beer. Anyway, pale malt mixes with some peach and apricot in the nose, with a slight fruity hop presence. Pretty nice.
Not too much going on in the taste though. Some slight peach/apricot flavor up front gives way to pale malt, grain, and finishes with a little earthy hops. Pleasant enough flavor but very subdued.
Lively carbonation throughout, light bodied. Easy drinking.
This was one of my go-to beers when I first got into craft years ago, but having had so many other amazing beers since then, this brew just doesn't really stand up to what else is out there. An enjoyable session beer, but definitely not something I would go out of my way to find.

Haters gonna hate. I feel like this beer is underrated on here because it has three characteristics that people on BA tend to dislike: it's a fruit beer, it's mass distributed, and it's made by Magic Hat. While not an amazing beer, it's certainly better than average. The point of rating beers on BA is to consider a beer within its own genre...and as far as fruit beers are concerned, I think this one is damn good. If you don't like fruit beers, it should be no surprise to you that you won't like this one. If you think it's uncool to drink Magic Hat, either because it's mass distributed or because of the West 6th thing...then don't drink it. Anyway, now that I'm down off my soapbox, the flavor of this is rich, and the apricots definitely come through, refreshing pretty much any time of year. The color has an inviting orangish hue which I find very appealing. Mouthfeel isn't awesome, a little heavy on the carbonation. Overall, a pretty good beer.
