Magic Hat's beers just started showing up in Pittsburgh, so even though I've already tasted #9 a few years ago, I jumped at the chance to have a glass last night at the Sharp Edge.
A: Copper to almost red. Thinner head, cream-colored, that faded fairly quickly.
S: Probably the most interesting aspect of the beer. Pretty fruity for a pale ale, some yeast, ...
T: Good, but not great, I don't mind fruit beers that are well-balanced, but the apricot and peach flavors really push to the front. I will say this: #9 has an absolutely unique flavor.
M: Smooth. Goes down well.
D: I couldn't drink these all night, but the folks at Magic Hat have come up with a beer as mysterious as its cryptic name. Nice effort.
Serving type: on-tap
