Notes/Commercial Description:
A beer cloaked in secrecy. An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A sort of dry, crisp, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there's never been anything else quite like it.

Opaque and golden tan in color with a thin head. Burnt biscuit, sweet apricot, peach syrup, and no hops to speak of in the aroma department. White bread, toast, rosewater, and peach lemon syrup flavors come through. There is some bitterness, but no hop flavor. A little thick for a pale ale but light in taste.

I want to like this more than I do, but the peach/apricot flavors are too strong. The thickness of the beer lends itself to syrup a little too much and hits too close to my taste buds' homes. It's just off putting. I wouldn't mind a bit of hop bitterness at the end as long as it's a floral sweet type of hop flavor. Take the apricot flavor down a notch and maybe I can learn to enjoy this brew. Until then, this is something I'll pass up for something better in this golden age of craft beer that we live in.
