A beer cloaked in secrecy. An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A sort of dry, crisp, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there's never been anything else quite like it.

A beer that has become a regular in my fridge and at tailgates. Floral aroma with some citrus. Nice medium sized white head. Flavor is of apricots and other citrus fruit. Smooth and refreshing. Have had this in can, on tap, and in the bottle. Like seeing more beers being available in cans.

Served in a Perfect Pint.

A=Nice rich medium gold color with 1 finger head.

S=Faint fruity smell.

T=Rather bland...a fainty hint of citrus, but not the apricot or peach others have been tasting...more like orange. Update: 1/22/12: Had another bottle after drinking an A-B Natural Light...FWIW, I enjoyed this much more than the first time and could taste the apricot...funny how a second go around can change your mind...anyway, upped the taste from 2.5 to 4.0.

M=Rather drinkable, could be a session beer on a hot summery day.

O=Not something I would purchase again; I still have two bottles left and will re-evaluate if I can find a decent pairing.

Purchased a 22 oz Joe Lewis at the local supermarket for 2.99. It says best by date on neck of bottle, but damned if I could find said date. I wonder if it was a long time ago?!? Pours a nice light copper color, with about an inch of thick, creamy head which dissipates after a minute or so.

I dunno if this bottle is old, but it smells not good. Kind of a weird, fruity and metallic smell, and the metallic note is only amplified by taking a drink. There are certain beers, usually APA's that just simply don't taste good to my palate, and this beer has that quality. To me, it tasted like a much cheaper beer with a hint of biscuity malt. Overall, I just don't find it that good.
