12 oz bottle into my brooklyn tulip tumbler. A deep copperish with a tan head of two fingers. A bit of chill haze I think. Yes, now I see beautiful clarity. Good lacing all the way down my glass and pond scum like foam to cover the brew.
Smell is great. Piney hops, grapefruit, caramel sweet malt and more hops. Yeasty breads. This is a hop lovers delight! Each sniff is almost as good as a swallow. It has a complex mix of hops that gives depth the the nose.
Taste is a wall of hops with malt peeking around the edges. The malt falls into the middle bringing in caramel aspects and a tannic bit to the end. Hops close out the finish with a delicate mix of bready malt and floral hop bittering on the roof of my mouth and palate. Somewhere in all of this there is a sneaky dark fruit component that ducks away when you try to find it.
Mouthfeel is medium and lightly syrupy. It is a joy to have lingering in my mouth for a moment instead of vanishing. Carbonation is the foil to the syrup and makes the finish clean and dry. Your squeezing your tongue against the roof of your mouth for that last bit of taste.
Drinkability is superb. I can easily see myself making an evening of this stuff. As many as I can handle as it is not heavy and filling, just delicious.
Think Arrogant Bastard's little brother and your on the right track. One Of Magic Hats best IMHO.

Nice winter is coming type ale, though not too high abv's, gives you a nice warming feeling. Rich with caramel and grapefruit aromas, as well as grapefruit flavor. Balanced with a closing bitterness that is pleasant. Overall, one I like to enjoy when possible, very drinkable, giveit a try. Cheers!
