Born of dark and cold and snow in the marrow of the northeast's longest night, Howl comes in on wailing winds with winter-weary eyes burning holes in sunless shadows. In its darkened depths our inner voids are warmed.

Lately the MHs I've been partaking haven't quite scratched the itch, but this one did the trick...
Right out of the glass into the pint it pours black like advertised with a small tan-ish head and very light to almost no lacing. Smell was unique as it was distinctly stout-like with a crisp and smooth mouthfeel. These black lagers can be weird when it comes to being more hoppy than you would expect and this one is follows that path, but without any flavor, just bitterness - not bad, but not special either. It's a solid enough beer, has cool label art which makes it perfect for those Halloween parties at the end of October.
