Looks very hazy. A rooibos color with auburn tones. The head is restrained, but also well-retained.
Nutty plum, alcohol, prune, dark honey, and clove. Very yeast, but with a candied roast scent. Not bad.
Belgian malts with a thinness that allows the alcohol to stand out. Strange yeast and malt flavors that evoke fruit pits, toasted pita bread, and walnut. Has that dark fruit flavor that follows the nose with notes of plum, clove, and raisin. Dark honey and candi sugar are also prominent, and the finish is decently dry, to boot.
A medium-bodied brew with a bit of stickiness. The carbonation is alright. The booze is a bit reeking.
Eh, I was hoping for a better result from this brew.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy deep ruby red color with a 2 finger dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big raisin, prune, pear, fig, date, caramel, toast, molasses, toffee, dark candi sugar, brown bread, clove, banana, chocolate, biscuit, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Fantastic aromas with great complexity and balance of dark malt, fruit, and yeast ester notes; with great strength. Taste of big raisin, prune, pear, fig, date, caramel, toast, toffee, molasses, brown bread, dark candi sugar, chocolate, clove, banana, biscuit, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of dark fruits, caramel, toast, toffee, molasses, dark candi sugar, brown bread, chocolate, clove, banana, biscuit, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity and balance of dark malt, fruit, and yeast ester flavors; with big robustness and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a creamy and slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic Belgian strong dark ale! All around awesome complexity, balance, and robustness of dark malt, fruit, and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.
