A: cloudy orange, gold, one inch, thin head

S: sharp tart fruit, yeast, phenol, berry, gum

T: tastes like some drops of berry flavor syrup, mixed in with any standard domestic beer. Beyond the obvious huckle/elder berry taste, nothing really going on in this beer. I think it's trying to be the berry style of their Number 9, and it is similar.

M: light carbonation, sweet berry, more sweet, finish is like you ate a purple jolly rancher, then drank some beer.

O: this is probably the perfect beer for some who don't normally like beer but enjoy sweet candy-like drinks and alcohol, I think it is too obvious, I like something with more going on. Aftertaste is not balanced at all to me

If you've always wished Schwepps Dry Grape came in beer version, this is your moment.

12oz brown bottle w/ no freshness date.

LOOK: Hazed orange golden color, minimal lacing stays for a while.

SMELL: Berries, taffy, cracker-like graininess, nutty, chalky yeast

TASTE: Smooth, grainy, soft berry tones, faint tartness, very grassy, walnut skins, semi-dry finish

Not much to this brew at all. It is a wheat beer with a smattering amount of berry character. Not crisp and perhaps too much body for a "summer beer", either way it lands pretty lackluster on my palate.

Had on tap at BBC-Cedarville--served into a pint glass

Appearance: minimal head, medium carbonation, dark gold in color, hazy

Smell: faint blue and black berries, wheat

Taste: wheat, blueberry, blackberry, twigs, spice

Mouthfeel: sweet, light body, medium carbonation

Overall: I like this as a hefe/sahti mix with a bit of fruit. As beer overall, I think it is creative and would have a couple on a hot night. I think there are way better hefes that are truer to style however.

Picked up a 12 pack on markdown to $7, pretty good find.

A- A nice golden amber with a thick head that runs down to nothing.

S- Smells pretty standard. I have next to no sense of smell though.

T- Tastes crisp like a hefeweizen with a light flavor of an unidentifiable berry, but refreshing.

M- Bites a bit at the end, finishes with a hint of that fruit.

Overall, for the price, not bad at all, a decent find.

The beer pours a hazy orange color with a white head. The aroma has a nice blueberry and elderberry character, as well as some wheat. The beer smells fairly juicy overall. The flavor has some tart berry notes, as well as some wheat. The fruit seems a bit artificial and is very sweet. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Better than I expected, but nothing to seek out.

Single bottle from Premier Gourmet in Buffalo. My wife and I both enjoy elderberries, so we figured this would be a fine choice for the summer.

Poured into a sampler glass. Deep golden-copper in colour, quite hazy, with a half inch head that dissipates into a thin ring. Decent looking wheat beer.

Nose is fruit - elderberry and currant, a bit of peach - the rest is quite faint, perhaps a bit of citrus and wheat malt.

Not a bad beer by any stretch. It's got a nice elderberry flavor, it's light and refreshing, goes down well. It's just...there isn't much else there. The malt base is quite weak, and the flavor is not very complex. The fizzy carbonation is not helping matters much. Don't get me wrong, on a hot summer's day this would be a refreshing treat, and I like it a great deal better than other Magic Hat brews, but it could have been so much more.
