A: The beer is slightly hazy light yellow in color (like a witbier) and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high dense white head that died down leaving a thin head covering the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: There are light aromas of floral and citrus hops in the nose—marigolds and lemons seem to stand out in particular.
T: Like the smell, the taste has flavors of floral hops along with notes of lemon and orange citrus and a slight amount of bitterness.
M: It feels rather light-bodied (but not watery) on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: While this beer has muted aromas and flavors, it is very easy to drink. I wouldn't mind having one of these again on a summer day.

Pistil – Dandelion Ale (4.5%) - Magic Hat (Vermont)
App: Pours a very pale straw color and throws an airy, one finger chalk white head that settles slowly. Some particulate matter floating around, with a thick cake of sediment at the bottom. Not sure if this is part of what you get with a dandelion ale, or if this one's been sitting in the cooler for a while. Not unlike the hop sediment seen in a lot of unfiltered pale ales.
Smell: Bouquet is very mild with some grain like sweetness and a slight hint of new growth and apricot. Some hints of weed like bitterness.
Taste: Pretty light on flavor. Some cereal graininess and a slightly fruity, apricot like tartness. Bitterness is very mild. Similar in flavor to New Belgium's Paardebloem, but not as pronounced in flavor. Mild, grainy, and slightly sweet, with a very slight herbal bitterness on the aftertaste. Flavors linger for a long time after the swallow. Very drinkable, but not super engaging. Good hot weather beer.
Mouth: Mild-medium body with assertive carbonation that is a little stinging. Suits this beer as a good hot weather session.
Home tasting, 12oz bottle into Snifter. 3/31/14.
