Maybe one of the worst craft beers I have had.
I keep trying different offerings from Magic Hat because I am a fan of #9 and I most often find some real duds. This is one of those. Another was their beet colored beer. Just terrible. I guess they are "one beer wonder" brewery.

This beer poured a mute golden color with a white head. This head held up pretty well at one finger width.

Being brewed with dandelions this beer gives off a nice floral note, that's not to hoppy. A second note of lemon citrus is found. The flavor is that of a light lager but finishes a little earthy. Beer displays a weaker bitterness that coats the tongue. The finish is clean with only a mild effect to the palette.

Pale yellow, cloudy, a very slight white head. This looks like it will be crisp and good.

No discernable nose.

Tastes bitter and not much else. The bitterness overpowers whatever flavor might otherwise be present. Very one-dimensional.

Better mouthfeel than usual for magic hat. Itching special, but decent body.

I probably won't have this one again.

Bottle poured into pint glass

Nice white foam head with good lacings. Tiny carbonation in translucent golden yellow liquid.

Aroma is sour and almost skunky.

Light, watery, sour, some carbonation.

I do not like green eggs and ham, I do like them here, I do like them there. I do not like this beer.

Appearance: The load pffft when I opened the bottle was a giveaway that this beer was going to have a lot of carbonation and it pours out almost all foam though though the liquid buids with a slightly hazy honey color over time; of course, the flip side of overcarbonation is typically great head retention and plenty of lacing

Smell: Grassy and herbal with a cooked vegetable character

Taste: Rather neutral malt flavors, up front, but then the lemony herbal and rather medicinal dandelion flavors take over; tart finish with the cooked vegetables underneath

Mouthfeel: Watery and overcarbonated

Overall: I'm really quite disappointed with this beer and find it hard to take another sip

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass

A- pours a cloudy shade of yellow with a two finger white head. Tons of carbonation, bubbles are flowing everywhere...out of a pint glass. What the hell? OK then. Looks kind of like a hefeweizen, I guess

S- I get that basic "lager" smell...corn with a touch of grass. No bueno

T- really bland flavors. Apparently brewed with dandelion. I'm getting some light grass, and that's about it. Boring as hell.

M- body is extremely thin and watery

O- this is...not good. Very bland and uninspiring in nearly every way.

Clear and very pale yellow beer with a small white colored head. Looks REALLY light.

Smells malty and peppery with a herbal weedy aroma. That's about it a weird smelling beer.

Starts out very dry with a faint mango taste. Earthy and peppery with a substantial bitter finish. Tastes like Bud Light with extra hops.

Mouthfeel is thin.

Pretty insubstantial beer. Not recommended for any use.

Ick. What the h, e, double hockey sticks is the base on this? It tastes dirty and just off. Not as in the beer is spoiled, but just totally bad. Almost a dirty taste to it. It's been a long time since I've made a beer drainpour, but this might be the next one.

Magic Hat should lay off the gimmicks and stick to making solid beers.

Pours straw yellow with a small head. Smells like a bag of frozen mixes vegetables, slightly floral, very earth. Tastes like it smells, vegetables, grassy, pretty gross. Overall I'd say try this 12o bottle with a few friends, it's absolutely a novelty beer and I'll be shocked if I ever see anyone buy a sixpack. I like the idea, dont like the beer.

12 oz bottle from Trader’s Joe. Pours golden with short-lived white head and lively carbonation. Aroma is of piney hops and pale malt. Body is medium and tangy. Taste is of piney hops, biscuit malt and some weird staff. Finish is long and leafy. This brew is strange.

A: Poured a nice translucent golden hay, with a mammoth (two-finger) white head with adequate retention, with uneven bubbles. Pronounced lacing. A pretty, appealing look. 3/5

S: Not a great burst when popping the bottle. Not a great burst of scent when poured. Not a whole lot of smell halfway through! You get the picture--not a lot of aroma, but there are faint traces of hops and wet hay. After drinking a bunch and allowing the beer to warm up a bit, you can detect some sweet fruitiness. Subtle, but not subtle as in complex. 2/5

T: Interesting--moderately tart and astringent, with a faint sweetness, with moderate hop detection. I can detect some citrus up front, and some sweet malts lingering in the aftertaste. Actually tastes like you crushed up some dandelion flowers between your fingers and gave it a whiff, but that's not entirely a pleasurable taste. 2.5/5

M: Rather refreshing, with moderate carbonation. Very drinkable, and perhaps more refreshing on a hot day (in other words, not in cold March). 3/5

O: I'm glad I tried this, although I won't reach for it again. Interesting flavors and an ambitious attempt at incorporating dandelions, but beyond the dandelion flavor there wasn't a whole lot of depth or scintillating aroma. My grandpa used to make dandelion wine, as I've been told, so I can only wonder if his brews shared any characteristics with this one. 3/5

Poured this Herbed beer from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Poured a hazy golden/yellow color, produced an average white head, average retention and left very nice lacing on the glass. The aroma consisted of fresh baked bread, lemon citrus, cooked veggies and coriander. Medium in body, a foundation of malted grain, white pepper, lemon, and grassy bittering hops. Can't say that I can detect the danelions, but then again- I usually pull them out of my yard, can't say I've ever consumed one. Maybe this spring. Overall, decent session beer- but it sounds more interesting then it really is- This danelion ale had me swinging my hips, prancing around the kitchen, dipped in gold (A La Joe Pesci) - If you want to have this much fun, try this Ale- You won't be disappointed. Bottle poured a pint glass.

A: hazy golden color

S: slightly harsh smell of citrus and flowers

T: could not get to the flower taste over the taste of citrus. Absent these flavors this beer tastes like a slightly sour wheat beer with a rotten lemon in it.

M: smooth, highly carbonated, light to medium body.

O: MH missed the mark with this one and I will be struggling to finish the 6pack.

12-ounce bottle

It's a nice looking beer, looking more like a wit than anything. Golden straw color with a haziness to it. The head is brilliant white, a finger and a half thick, and has great retention. As it finally falls, it leaves a nice, sticky lace behind.

The smell is nothing more than a bit player as it's anything but overwhelming. What's there is slightly acidic and faintly herbal...Earthy.

A swing and a miss in taste. Very spicy, though I can't pinpoint which spices. Pale malts dominate with the spices, and it tastes very pils-like. I don't know what dandelions taste like, but I can see it in this beer. A little bit of mint in the finish.

It's bitter from beginning to end. The herbal spiciness lasts the whole sip as well. It's light bodied and has almost no alcohol presence at all. Moderate carbonation produces a fairly dry, crisp finish.

I've had this beer in the fridge for a couple months now, a bit scared to drink it. Unfortunately, it's about what I expected. It's bitter like an IPA, just not in a good way. Not sure how I'm going to get through five more to finish the sixer.

Served in a Lagunitas mason jar.

I remember enjoying Fatome's Pissenlit, so I have high hopes for another dandelion beer. This stuff pours a clear pale gold topped by a finger of lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises light honey, very light white bread, and a touch of sweet flowers. Everything is vague and sweet-ish. The taste brings in more of the same, along with some severely-funky lemon peel, light grass, and moss greens. It literally leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fairly dry finish. Overall, a pretty sad beer, one that just plain doesn't taste very good. I guess dandelions are fickle little weeds...

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass...

Appearance - golden yellow with nice carbonation. A finger of white head that dissipates quickly. Would like to have seen more lacing. Looks light and airy, refreshing.

Smell - Scent of clover and grass with some subtle hoppiness. Does not have an overly strong aroma. Smells how it looks. Very light and summery.

Taste - Not really too much here. Very light grassy flavor. finishes dry with some bitterness. Tastes like there is some rice adjunct and possibly corn. Not sure I taste the dandelion, but there is definitely something unique about the flavor.

Mouthfeel - Dry with a very light body. Tastes similar to an Asian lager (think Kirin or Tsingtao) due to the dry finish and rice adjuncts.

Overall - Not a bad beer, but not as refreshing as many other beers this light. I dig what they tried to do with the dandelion, but I think the execution is a bit off.

Poured from a bottle into a sam adams perfect pint glass

Appearance: Pours a light hazy yellow started almost opaque at the top and gradually becoming lighter further down in the glass. Carries 1.5 fingers of head that dissipates quickly.

Smell: A bit grassy, i get a little of the dandelion with some bready notes and slight note of hops

Taste: Not to much here, kind of bland. Could pass for any american lager.

Mouthfeel: Very fizzy and thin

Overall: Somewhat dissapointing i expected something much different.

Appearance: Cloudy gold.
Smell: Flowery and wheatish. Maybe a touch of citrus.
Taste: Tart and tart aftertaste. Some spice.
Mouthfeel: Light carbonation.

There is a somewhat clear smell of flower. My grandmother used to cook dandelions and I tried to link the taste, but it was a stretch. In fact it doesn't seem to have much flavor at all other than a slightly sour carbonation with a hint of citrus. I do appreciate the use of dandelions though. I think that's pretty neat. It's certainly drinkable, especially on a summer day. However, I wouldn't get this again.

I bought this because I thought the bottle looked cool and the idea of a dandelion beer was intriguing. I did like the finish -- the aftertaste was balanced.

Unfortunately, I found the overall taste to be like licking dandelion milk off a stem, which wasn't thrilling. I don't think I would buy it again.

Bottle supplied by the brewery.

Pours a cloudy yellow with a short white head.

Lightly fruity and hoppy aroma with a hint of what I'm guessing is dandelion?

Not really sure I like the flavor. It's weird with sulphur-like notes mixed with tea flavors and corn-flakes.

The body is fine, with a crisp carbonation.

Sorry, this doesn't work for me.

A very interesting brew from Magic Hat.

Pours out a nice bright and hazy yellow with a ton of carbonation and a nice 2 finger fluffy white head.

The aroma has a lot of bready and yeasty notes along with floral notes and what I assume is dandelion.

The taste has a lot of the same bready/yeasty notes from the aroma, there is a slight hint of floral characteristics, there is the dandelion I assume (haven't tasted it before) and it finishes with some lemon/citrus zesty notes.

I like the carbonation level, but the body is a little too thin and the hops are buried under everything else. Not a bad summer beer, but nothing more.

Appearance - This beer poured really nicely with a billowy head similar to a Belgian or a Heff.

Smell - mild lemon zest but some grain and slight spice coming through. Very mild scents to say the least.

Taste - Very bland and not very interesting. Slight hop crispness in the finish. Not much noticeable flavors on the pallet.

Mouthfeel - a tad watery. Not much going on.

Overall - I'd rather have a macro if I was after a bland uninteresting beer. This one just lacks flavor and not much really is going on with it to make it a worthwhile beer to seek out. It's drinkable and sessionable but I wouldn't want to session it.

A- so many reviews stating that this beer is clear, but I am failing to see it. White foam on top of a dandelion colored beer that is filled with a ton of sediment and and bottom of the bottom flotsam. No notes on the bottle advising to pour slowly.

S- it has a faint sweet floral aroma. Nothing overpowering, but pleasant.

T- It has a spicy floral flavor with a bit of bitters on the finish. Definitely has that pollen aromatic feel to it. It has a finish that hop heads will appreciate. it just lingers on and on.

M- A bit thin but balanced.

O- It wasn't a terrible beer, Nothing to run out of your way to get but if you have a chance, give it a shot for something just a bit different.

Pours a bright, thick orange, looks like orange marmalade or something, has almost a pinkish tint as it pours, small to moderate sized head.

First thing in the nose is a bready malt character with a hint of bitterness, followed by very light hops and some odd plant like scent that I assume is the dandelions.

Taste is a fairly sweet, crisp, simple malt character that fades into that odd slightly bitter plant taste again, not much of a hop character at all.

Mouthfeel is odd, a bit watery, moderate carbonation but not particularly refreshing. Not terrible but weak.

I like this, more or less, or at least I don't really mind drinking it, but it's not very impressive.
