Available on tap in Vermont or the Magic Hat Artifactory
Nice deep brown color with a light tan, full bodied head.
You can smell the chocolate(cocoa nibs from Lake Champlain Chocolates). The overall nose is light and sweet.
The taste is strong chocolate and subtle maple(from a local producer). The Apollo hops give this a nice bitter edge.
The mouthfeel is slightly less than my favorite stouts have, but an enjoyable stout none the less.
It's too bad that this one does not make it out of Vermont, but that just means more for me.

More chocolate than maple. More coffee than either. A decent stout. I'll take Heart of Darkness.

Magic Hat Brewing Company - Artifactory Series: Maple Chocolate Stout, poured into a Craftgeer snifter.
Look - Thin viscosity dark brown-black with negligible head. Spotty lacing.
Smell - Rich maple chocolate with some warm malt. Wants me to take a sip.
Taste - Thinner body but rich in flavor. Roasted malt, chocolate, and sweet maple syrup.
Mouthfeel - Rests roasted while the chocolate and maple fades. Light-medium bodied with medium carbonation and good drinkability.
Overall - This is a solid brew, one of the few non-imperial English stouts I dug. More roasted than rich, but good nonetheless.
