Ticket to Rye is a Rye IPA that offers the imbiber an opening act of rye spice, nicely woven into a hearty, bitter backup from an entire band of Nugget hops. The harmony created by these ingredients is just what any epic show calls for.

Sitting thick and cloudy, this brew is somewhere between copper and bronze on the color spectrum, sort of a heavy orange-brown. A soft, creamy orange-tinted tan head rests at one finger almost the entire time there's beer in the glass. Lacing starts with a ring and is left in a thin, tattered sheet through the middle, then the thin foam that does remain continues to leave behind some patching.
Rye spiciness and earth pour out of the bottle upon opening along with raw, floral hops that also give a hint of a slightly herbal bitterness. A smidgen of caramel and breads make their way out, but the focus is mainly on green, leafy hops, and rightly so.
The bitterness is pithier on the palate, and the character changes a little from the nose in translation to the tongue. It's almost what I'd expect if a baker was going for pumpernickel and (somehow) accidentally got more of a sourdough. It reminds me of bitters used for mixed drinks. It's still hoppy, leafy and raw, but it goes off a little.
Fluffy and creamy with a strong crisp bite all the way into the finish, the mouthfeel never lets up much. It flows like silk for awhile, supported by a strong but not overly strong carbonationin a solid medium body.

Poured this out from a bottle in 2013.
A: pours dark amber body with small white head with solid retention and lacing.
S: somewhat sweet, toffee taste with some bitter, somewhat grapefruit smells
T: subtle bitterness; balanced with some sweet, roasted toffee; somewhat medicinal, alcohol like aftertaste
M: medium bodied and pretty smooth; decent
D: ok feel and taste combo; decent overall, but not that good of a rye IPA; decent, middle of the road

Ticket to Rye has a thin, beige head, a murky, light brown, bubbly appearance, with lots of powdery sediment and some glass lacing. Aroma is of twangy, rye bread crust, strong malt, and odd, but not unpleasant funk. Taste is of all that, with strong rye spice, heavy medium & dark malts, and building hop bitterness (but, this sample is almost seven months old). Mouthfeel is high medium, and Ticket to Rye finishes medium dry.

I tried this at the Embassy Suites in Downtown Pittsburgh. It poured a clear copper with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had hints of pine and malt. The taste was nicely balanced and easy with enough pine bitterness to make it interesting. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a decent beer.

12 bottle imperial pint glass
A deep amber with light red highlights. A very full, creamy and bubbly, dirty white foam cover. 2" high. Big lace leftovers.
Rye malt and herbal but fruity hops pop out of the nose. Creamy caramel, earthy-dried out leaves and a slight alcohol heat tingle. A rather potent aroma.
Dry, earthy, grassy hops and spicy rye dominates the flavor. The Rye malt and slightly bitter, dry and earthy hop flavor is spot on for this style ( Ryepa) The malt is rather toasty and void of any of the sweetness displayed in the nose. The malt comes over very much like an old-school English IPA with a big rye kick.
The mouthfeel is straight medium, dry, bitter pucker but a bit light in the middle (watery) with a very dry finish.
Overall, the flavor is good but certainly not hugr. The rye malt and barley are such a nice compliment to the high alpha, earthy, bitter and tangy hops.

Bottle from the mix a six at Hannaford.
Deep amber light copper in color with a good sized long lasting frothy off white head. Malty bready caramel on the nose with bits of earth and spice. Fruity earthy bready caramel malty flavor. Not much spice or hops in the flavor. Middle of the road at best like just about everything else from this brewery.

Not spicey, not hoppy, not an IPA.
What else is this "beer" not?
Drinkable. Down the sink after two sips.
This sucks. Save your money. Horrible and sickly sweet...shut this place down now - either that or at least write them a citation for impersonating a brewery and put them on brewing probation!
Bought their Mix2 12 pack - with this and three other beers and they all are horrible.
Blind Faith - yuck!
Electric Peel - barf!
Low Key - the only one I could finish...the least offensive brew out of this cocaphany of horrible brewing. Proceed at your own peril.

A: Poured from the bottle (single purchase at Price Chopper) into a Palm tulip. Body is coppery-amber with a 1-finger ecru-colored head on top that leaves a bit of lacing behind.
S: Definitely a bit of rye spiciness over spent brewer's grains and some earthiness. Hops not really noted.
T: Toasted multigrain bread foundation, then rye spice. "Grainy" keeps coming to mind. Finishes with lingering spice and a touch of bitterness.
M: A bit creamy in feel. Medium in heft.
O: OK. Better than expected, to be honest, but far from impressive.
