On tap at L&M Lanes in Rochester, NY.
Pours a russet caramel brown, fairly hazy, with a half inch head, and a little bit of lacing.
Smells like rye and caramel, with a small amount of pine.
The taste is similar. It just seems slightly muted, with some annoyingly sweet caramel malt flavors. It just seems faded. I suspect it's a combination of the beer being old and the beer being not particularly bright to begin with. The rye is there, but I wish it was a bit stronger.
There's a medium amount of carbonation supporting a medium strength body. Not all that drinkable because it doesn't taste that good.
Magic Hat continues to unimpress.

Picked up a single from Euro Market in Astoria. This is an IPA? It makes a decent amber rye ale, but that's all I'll give it. There's a tasty caramel and spicy bread crust flavor with an earthy, peppery finish. The aroma has a hint of hops, but it's heavy on the malts again. The body is medium, lighter than most 7% American ales, so it goes down quickly. Worth a try if you like rye. I do appreciate that you can taste the rye malts.
