Poured into an imperial pint glass. Color was a light orangey brown. Fair amount of carbonation rising from the bottom, with a very thin white head that clung to the sides a bit. Aroma was malty, with a dash of hops. Slightly sweet, with a hint of spicy, reminded me a bit of a honey brown bread. Felt great in the mouth. Nicely carbonated, coated well. Nicely drinkable. Well flavored and went down well.

500ml swing-top from Greg (Reagan1984). Served in an Alchemist pint glass.

A - Not much of a pop upon opening, but fears are quickly dispelled by a massive off-white foam that settles to a creamy, thick cap and numerous splotches of lace. Transparent bronze, with big bubble visibly rising upward.

S - While this is labeled an Altbier owing to the use of ale yeast, this is very much in the vein of an Oktoberfest. Toasted grains, a bit of nuttiness, and some lemony and earthy noble hopping. There's a bit of fruitiness that might be attributable to the yeast, but it's quite subtle.

T - The taste is less complex; mostly yeasty bread malt character with a kiss of toffee sweetness, and a surprisingly potent hop bitterness late. Earthy hop character grows over time but doesn't get fatiguing until near the end of the bottle.

M - Crisp, clean, and refreshing. Medium-light body, with a chewy, bready texture. Carbonation is on the lower side of moderate.

D - Crushable brew that is absolutely suited to a beer garden on a cool autumn evening. I wish the taste had the depth of the aroma, though. I was a bit apprehensive about the 500ml serving size as I didn't want to drink a ton on Sunday night, but I found this to be a spot-on serving size for this sort of beer.

Poured on-tap at the brewery and served in a plastic pint cup, the beer is a light, nutty tan coloring with a filmy white surface coating. Nose of roasted grains, sweet toffee, and hints of smoke. Flavors are toffee sweet, but light, with a transition into roasty and charred blend at the end of the palate. Smooth, light bodied, with a subtle, sweet aftertaste. Clean, crisp finish. Easy to drink, but there are better versions of the style.

Appearance: 1/4 inch head, brown in color, clear, moderate carbonation

Smell:toasted malt, and husk

Taste: toasted malt, husk, earth, and sweet chocolate

Mouthfeel: sweet with earthy bitterness, moderate carbonation, medium bodied

Overall:A good sessionable amber. Not the most complex brew, but one a friend and I put away a couple growlers down easily. I would get this again. One of my favorites from the brewery.

Thanks to my Father-In-Law (and new BA member) for bringing a growler of this to our Thanksiving celebration. I'm not sure about the style listing here. The neck flyer on the growler lists this as a "German Style Ale similar to an Octoberfest." I realize Marzen is a lager, so that doesn't work, but I'm still not sure this is correct. Anyway...

A fairly straight brown/amber colored beer is topped with a finger of fluffy white head. Some spotty light lacing left behind.

Aroma was of fresh baked bread. Lots of toasted malt notes and a grain like scent.

The front of the flavor here is wonderful. Very bready with just the right amount of hop bitterness and a touch of light grapefruit peel. Finishes with a very toasty bread flavor then falls off a bit at the end. Very enjoyable flavor.

This is the one area where you could almost say I was disappointed. While I really enjoyed this, I thought the body was a touch thin.

A very drinkable beverage and one that I really enjoyed drinking. This is a nice refreshing beer and would be a great candidate as a gateway beer when introducing friends to quality craft beer. Overall another nice beer from the folks at Cape Cod Beer.

Pours a clean amber in my DeKonnick glass. Has a musty, cereal smell. Grainy, even. The taste is nutty, with a mild noble hop aftertaste. Malt-forward and clean. Mouthfeel is silky soft, incredibly drinkable. It has a very "Oktoberfest" flavor which isn't my favorite but really excels with mouthfeel. I could drink this all night long.

This is a sharp beer which I will definitely seek out in the future!

A thank you to my people that brought this back from vacation at the Cape
A light pleasant nose of nutty grain and citrus floated over the off-white creamy mostly lasting head that laced the glass. Bright and amber with medium body. Starts out lightly sweet malty with a slight tart in the middle. Light bitterness in the finish that has average duration. In between watery and creamy texture makes it easy drinking. All this and a soft carbonation lends this beer to a session status. ABV not stated but would appreciate it higher to take it out of the Alt range into Harvest. I liked it.

Poured from a growler obtained by my parents from the Brewery. Served in a pint glass

A: Poured a light amber with a one finger head. Carb remained constant and hugged the sides of the glass. Decent lacing.

S: Hint of pine, lots of nuts.

T: Very light - very soft hop finish. Taste is mainly nutty.. Very appropriately titled as a harvest. Just not a helluva lot going on.

M: Fairly light - whisks through the mouth

D: Very easy to drink - a light beer with some flavor. Certainly could be a session beer.

Overall - was solid but just wasn't memorable. A beer that won't offend or necessarilly disappoint.

Growler obtained in trade with corey0212. Thanks for the opportunity.

Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed a 1" tan head over the clear amber brew. This is exactly the shade I picture when I think of "ant in fossilized sap". Thick head fades gradually, with ample lacing. Aroma is balanced, with nutty notes. Taste has grain husks upfront, a light citrus character int he middle, and a clean close. Mouthfeel is light and soft over the tongue, with very easy drinkability. An ale that lets you come back for more when you want.
