Head was good and lacing was okay, poured a cloudy yellowy orange. Had floaties in it that were not overly large or unpleasant but noticeable none the less.

Smell had a pleasant hop smell that was not overpowering but seemed to just highlight the hops in the beer. Smelled good

Taste was great, the hops were prominent but less bitter than I would have expected. Malt was well balanced also.

Was very smooth, carbonation was perfect and the beer was very drinkable. I have always enjoyed Bastone beers but this was way better than I expected!

On-tap at the brewpub. Edgy bitterness and high malt, like a double IPA. Cloudy orange and lots of lace. Breathing in the C-hop grapefruit aroma, citrus flavour-check.Medium-full mouthfull and new year-round for the brewery, giving the people what they want. Nicely crafted by Rockne.

On tap at the Bastone Brew Pub.

Poured a medium to deeper and lightly hazy orange color with a small sized off wihte head. Aromas of citrus (oranges and grapefruits), and light caramel. Tastes of orange peels, grapefruit, and light caramel. Medium bitter with light lacing left on the glass.

This beer was served on tap at Bastone in Royal Oak, Michigan. It arrived in a generic pint glass, glowing a rich golden honey brown coloring. It held a one and a half finger tall head of soapy white bubbles, showing decent retention. Sheets and patterns of lacing were left around the glass as it bubbled away at a medium pace. A chill haze was noted, but no sediment was seen. Carbonation appeared to be light. The aroma was simple, with pale malts, white flour, soapy and grassy hops, apricot fruitiness, lemon juiciness, coriander, sweaty salts, and lighter corny adjuncts. Our first impression was that, as with the nose, we found the hop profile to be a bit basic and subdued, but it still drank easily. As we sipped, the taste opened with pale malts and cereal grain, lemon peel, cherry flesh, alcohol spice, soapy and lemony hops, and black pepper. The middle came to a peak with freshly preshed cotton, oily bark greens, florals, continued cereal grain, bitter walnut, lipstick waxiness, and fresh mineral bitterness. The ending wash came with grapefruit pith, sour green grapes, stark herbals, chemical phenol bite, star fruit, moss, corn, salt, and lightly toasty pale malt. The aftertaste breathed of light booziness, lemon wipes, white sugar, rosehip, dried chamomile, daisy petals, citric and soapy hop bitterness, nectarine and apricot sugars, and dusty, pseudo-wheaty pale malts. The body was light to medium, and the carbonation was medium. Each sip gave decent slurp and smack, but only okay cream and froth. Finishing pop was crisp, aiding to a mild puck and bite felt around the mouth. Otherwise the palate and tongue were lightly coated with little dryness to be found. The abv was appropriate, and the beer drank easily.

Overall, what we enjoyed most about this beer was its flavoring and its ease of drinkability. The taste showed a nice array and blend of flavors, including biting soapy hops, a variety of florals, light nuttiness, and clean malts. The lightness of hops helped keep things from being overly bitter, while the paler grain bill lent an easier body for light summer drinking. That said, the entire picture was a bit basic, and the aroma had a bit of a skunky, adjuncty vibe that was a bit of a turnoff at the beginning. This did, however, even out throughout the tasting and with warmth, allowing for a much nicer, more delicious hop profile to break through. This is a nice and soft house IPA, but it surely won’t disappoint.

On-tap, served in a pint glass

Billed as "Royal IPA"

Appears a reddish amber with a small yellowish cap that fades rather quickly. Sheets of lace as I work my way through the beer. The aroma is light. Toasted caramel with pine needles and a light grapefruit. The flavor profile is almost exactly the same, only grapefruit comes through a little more and lends a very mild bitterness. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy and it has a medium body. This is a highly drinkable IPA, however the hops aren't nearly assertive enough for this to turn any heads.

An easy drinking DIPA that doesn't compromise on taste. Hazy orange, with bitter fruit aromas. Spicy peels, citrus, and a healthy dose of grapefruit round out the flavors.

The bitterness is dried up with great carbonation giving it a creamy feel that doesn't overstay its welcome.

Clear, but with a faint chill haze. Orange in colour with an off-white cap, great head retention, super sticky rings of bubbles indicated each sip - at least for the first half glass. The aroma was all hops, fruity, grapefruit, and floral in character. Solid bitterness with a lot of orange and grapefruit flavour. Not much malt. Medium to light bodied with fine, lowish carbonation, a bit dry. Decent, easy drinking IPA.

Poured from the tap at restaurant. Nice copper color and unfiltered appaerance. Nice strong aroma of Centennial hop and malt. Nicely carbonated and lively. Taste was wonderfull with hops and malt fighting for center stage. Wonderful lingering aftertaste of Cent. and malt. Very drinkable and all of them went down smooth. Very Good.
