Elusive and legendary and neither chocolate or wheat. This American Porter has been moonlighting at the Pub since the day we opened in 2004. Season-less, and peer-less, Chocolate Wheat is perfect for any day you could use a little extra lovin’—with rich malt tones of caramel, coffee, and chocolate. Fill your guts with this full-bodied goodness!

L= Nice chocolate brown color, topped with a 2 finger tan head. Decent carbonation, moderate lacing.
S= Not a lot there. Faint chocolate, faint malt, faint hops. Quite undistinguished.
T= Weak. The chocolate taste is pleasant, but there's no enough of it. Wheat dominant, hops, faint malt, mild hops.
F= The mouthfeel is slightly watery, There is no back end, no excitement rolling it across the tongue. The water base seems like good, clean water.
O= Brewed to a price and it shows. Bland, Inoffensive... it is as refreshing as a cold glass of good water.

Bottle poured a black hue with a thin dimming tan head. Moderate boozy chocolate aroma. Initial flavor is moderate sweet with a moderate bitter finish of short duration. Tastes are roasted coffee, dark chocolate, dark toast, and earthy hop.

Good brew. Here goes:
A: Pour a nice head; leaves good lacing. Beer is pitch black; very little light makes it through the beer.
S: Chocolate and coffee. Very dark malts. Just how I like it.
T: Follows the nose. Very little fruitiness, which is a good thing, IMO. Just chocolate and coffee.
F: Little light considering the flavor. Still good, though.
O: Decent beer. Would have again.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass. The color is deep maroon. The chocolates late in this porter makes it relatively sweet. The wheat is not too strong, it just cuts the sweetness a bit. Their is not much head. It is a good and accessible dark beer.
