Sampled at World Expo of Beer in Frankenmuth, Michigan.
It's alright. It is what it says it is -- a bit of a sour dark lager. Pretty good, and sort of refreshing. If you don't like sour, you'll obviously hate this beer -- I think it's decent for a pretty one-of-a-kind style of beer... a sour dark lager? Well, that's weird. There's a dark malt/caramel flavor, a moderate amount of sourness, and a slightly bitter finish. The bitterness level is a little high for my liking -- the sour flavor with bitterness clashes a little bit and could use some tweaking. I'd prefer a little more sour and less bitterness, personally.
Not exceptional by any means, but not forgettable.

Look - 2/5
Cloudy dark brown
Smell - 2.5/5
light sourness, light skunk, light malt.
Taste - 1.5/5
The first sip leaves you wonder if there's something wrong with this beer. After few careful sips, you realize you're drinking a short's beer. This is one of the worst that I had from Short's, and I'm a big fan. Short's should stick to IPAs.
Unpleasingly sour with a hint of sweetens from the caramel. It's sharply metallic and extremely bland
Mouthfeel - 2/5
lightly carbonated with a bitter aftertaste.
Overall - 1.5/5
I'm not really sure if this is a California Common beer. The label says "Sour Mash Southern Style Dark Lager" and I have no idea what does that mean. The beer is really weird but not in a good way. I don't think it's worth it at all.

A hazy dark orange/amber beer (looks purplish in the dark) with a thin quickly dissipating white head. Smell of lager, malt, and dried fruit. Tastes like lager, a bit of skunk, some roasted malt, medium body, light carbonation, quite a bit of sour copper, lemon, and bread. Lots of clashing flavors, didn't really care for this at all.

Poured from bottle into tulip glass. Head is here-and-gone, color is brown with orange and garnet hue when held to the light. Aroma is sweet and fruity, raisins, caramelized sugar, malty. Taste is interesting, definitely new to me. There's sourness, mealy flesh fruit (pear, apple), dark bread, and a sweet finish. The sourness hits the salivary glands, and there's a bit of copper taste there, too, just a bit. Some toasted notes, too. Every sip exposes different flavors.
