Named after the hop flower Humulus Lupulus, this India Pale Ale style beer has enormous amounts of hop bitterness, flavor and aroma. With a very complex malt bill, flavors seem to meld with the hops to balance this ale and provide a ridiculous urge to sample more.

Huma Lupa Licious India Pale Ale pours a slightly cloudy, bronze color with a large, long-lasting head. The aroma has notes of earth and dark green vegetables. The flavor notes earth, many vegetables, and immense bitterness. Good feel. Overall, a great, big, bold classic IPA with lots of bitterness, malts, hops, and everything.

There's an initial sweetness to this beer that fades fast, kind of like your ex. Mellow and not overly bitter. You think I'm going to make another joke about your ex, don't you? Creamy, and easy to lap up. Look, I'm done with the yuks here, okay?

Alcohol at 7.7% seems a little low for an imperial, which is what they claim but I see it's listed here as a regulation IPA. In fact, of about eight random IPAs I picked up, this has the lowest ABV. Good head retention. JUST LIKE YOUR

L: Dark yellow-gold with a slight haze in its otherwise clear body; grows a whitish head of fluff with good hold and nice lacing down the glass
S: Hops all over the nose: citrusy, a little tropical, and grassy with a pithy bite to it, though a vague hint of malts does seek to add balance; sharp despite some sweetness and breadiness trying to break through
T: Follows suit; goes big with the hops but adds just a touch of sharpness and astringency, though it does have at least a little balance from a caramel / doughy malt note
F: A medium body holds firm with crisp carbonation, and the bite in the throat is eased in a smoothing finish; the hoppy finish lingers with lots of citrusy notes that last

Pours a light golden amber color with a large thick frothy head on top. Has a light hop smell and nothing more. Taste is of malts and small dose of citrus. Easy to crush this one.

I thought this IPA should have gotten a higher rating from Beer Advocate than others. Disappointed. At any rate, this IPA is almost Epic to me, in my opinion. Great Bear.

From Beer Drop. Canned March 10th 2022?? It should not be that old.

Nice clear gold sitting under an inch of foam.

I smell citrus, pine, and some cardboard malt. Not surprising.

Grapefruit citrus, pine, malt that definitely says that this is past its prime.

Good mouthfeel, I am not going to hold the age of this beer to the brewery.
