Poured from a 12oz bottle into a wheat beer glass.
Brilliant color, a nice bright yellow that fades when taken away form the light. Looks like a Belgian golden ale. A nice bit of head lingers from a good pour.
This one smells exceptionally bright. It smells like a cross between a great hefeweizen and a witbier. Getting a ton of citrus from the respective zests and a slight bit of coriander. It almost comes through like a lemon jolly rancher.
Awesome flavor as the peppercorns and coriander take the lead and float down my taste buds on a raft of lemon zest and the wheat character. The orange flavor pops up momentarily at the end and is again subdued by the spices and lemon which tends towards slight bitterness than outright sourness. The citrus and slight tart almost snap on your tongue as the sip finishes. Subtle remnants of the peppercorn flavor sit on your tongue between sips.
Great carbonation and the wheat give this an excellent body and mouthfeel. It tastes as bright as it smells. Reading the bottle led me to believe this would be more a winter warmer type but this reminds me more of a nice refreshing day drink in the sun. While a great beer, can the Hoegaarden, I'll take one of these.
