Poured from a 12oz bottle into a tulip glass to a hazy gold colour with a thinnish white head.

Smells of orange peel/zest, other hints of citrus and some peppercorn, corriander and a pinch of other 'unidentifiable' herbs!

Flavour wise a sour orange and to a lesser extent lemon dominates the mouth allied to background flavours of wheat and moderate spice. Also get the peppercorns again particularly in the finish however there was also a background 'sweetness' to the beer which I don't think overly helped the balance of flavours!

Mouthfeel was light to medium in body, perhaps a little too thin and watery?

Overall not impressed. Not a particularly well balanced beer and a little thin.

Slightly 'spicie' but not so 'nicie' - they must have set themselves up for a review along those lines and I'm sure I'm not the first to quote that and I won't be the last!

Would not seek out this beer in any way shape or form in the future. I would imagine the only likelihood of me drinking again would be on a hot summers day as I guess it has 'refreshment' potential in such conditions, but someone would have to give me a bottle!

A - Color is a bright yellow with a touch of haziness. Head is minimal I get only a sticky lace that turns to nothing.

S - Sweet lemon and grass smells. I could also pick up on the orange zest and coriander

T - Wheat and lemon with spicy peppercorn flavors first. Orange peel is nicely integrated giving it a bittering edge. A tad bit spicy making it sort of acidic.

M - Light to medium the ABV is spot on.

Overall I looked to this beer as a Voodoo "White Magic of the Sun" with a more sessionable ABV and I was right. Flavors are just as good as the Voodoo beer if not better since its not as yeasty. Good beer overall.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass.

Pours a clear gold, with a ½ finger of creamy bright-white head. This retains with a thin frothiness that hangs sudsy foam down the sides of the glass. The aroma smells of spice, lemon, and wheat. The fruit in particular really gives this a refreshing feel in the nose.

The taste has crisp tartness to it from those wheat and lemon flavors, with various spices that are sprinkled throughout. That tartness really picks up as this warms. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and sharp feeling on the tongue with a prickly carbonation that blows up a bit along the back of the palate.

While I didn’t find this super complex or anything, I did really appreciate the super refreshing and easy drinking feel here from that combination of wheat, fruit, and complimentary spices. I’d go for another bottle of this.

A - Pours a fairly clear golden color with a thin finger of frothy white head. The head fades down fairly to a ring around the glass leaving behind a touch of lace.

S - I thought the nose was rather weak. There wasn't a lot that came out you do get some spices in there with a lot bit bit of citrus but like I said they didn't stand out and you really had to dig to get that out of this beer. I also did detect the peppercorns used in this one also but there is a lot going on in the nose of this beer it's kind of hard to pick something that stands out. IMO it just had a weak nose.

T - I thought the beer started off kind of on the citrus side which was kind of surprising because I thought it would be more spices. In the middle of the beer is where the spices and peppercorns come out and play. It was nice just wish it would have been more spiced that's all.

M - Light bodied with lots of carbonation. Smooth with a tart and spiced finish.

D - Easy to drink but don't think I would want a lot of this just because it's not my style and like I said before I thought there would be more spices. Glad I got to try but wouldn't buy a whole six pack of this would just put a bottle in a mixed six pack or something like that.

Hazy yellow with a big, bubbly white head. A few dripping lace trickles stuck to the glass by a thin skim or retention.

Smells like dish soap (in a good way). Dry, farmy light grain, zesty kitchen soap citrus (lemon and orange) and an almost Gueze-like corn chip wheat sweetness.

Bright citrus with a sour wheaty twang. I don't notice the peppercorn until it fades away in the swallow. Light but plush body.

My girlfriend brought this home ecstatic that she found some Shorts. I wasn't at all excited because I was expecting another stupid nutmeg/cinnamon/clove winter warmer type beer. This is summary, fresh and the antithesis of what I was expecting. Good stuff.

Sorry babe.

Another nice gift from Corbet - thanks! First time trying anything from Short's, poured into a Delirium Tremens tulip. It pours a muted and hazy coriander yellow with tinges of red and the off-white head keeps building from below. This is a very well-carbonated beer - not an explosion, but a constant re-creation.

The aroma is of lemon zest, honey, sour cherry, and a slight medicinal finish. My first sip was surprisingly up-front with the coriander, which, on second thought, was the medicinal aspect of the aroma. It takes digging in to get through the coriander, but the lemon zest and a rather bitter hop bite are definitely there, along with a hint of sour cherry funk.

The mouthfeel is smooth and dry except for the lingering sourness in the back of the throat, and because of the nice carbonation it's always a pull through the foam. As I go on and the beer warms up, the sour cherry comes more to the front and the coriander begins to take its place as a finisher.

All in all, it's a very interested and unique take on a wheat; I'm glad I got to try it and can definitely see enjoying this quite a bit with a caprese salad on a hot summer day (we're having a freak warm day, which is one of the reasons I opened this up).

12oz bottle to NBB globe glass. The beer pours a hazy yellow gold color with a nice 2 finger white head. Good retention. Some lacing. Interesting blend of spices on the nose: coriander, lemons, citrus, and a lot of pepper. The flavor follows suit with a good amount of lemon on the front end. As the beer develops the spices come through and dominate, especially the pepper flavor. A mix of citrus, clove, all spice flavors along with a mild bitterness. A mild malt bill of what seems to be wheat and toasted barley provide a decent background. Spices linger on the tongue. Medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation. Overall, a bit too much pepper for my liking as I feel it dominates the flavor and aroma. If that were toned down this could be a very drinkable beer.

weird brew. pours a lovely golden color with a moderate haze to it and a quickly fading white head, bits of lace on te glass. smells a little sour, almost like a brett beer, but notes of herbs and citrus override the sour. middle malt undertones. tastes like excellent cannabis, tangy and zesty, tangerine notes, still some sour in the finish.a very very light peppery, flavor too, really nice in the finish. this one is growing on me. mouthfeel really transitory, first sour, then orange grove, then steak au poivre, then belgianish yeast. really nice, not delicate but less than sturdy. good carbonation. i like this one a lot, much better than the other shorts offerings ive tasted. nightcap supreme
