Faint aroma of malt and yeast is detected when deeply inhaled.
It pours a decent cream-colored head with good retention and rejuvenation from the hazy, reddish-brown brew. Medium hopped with a mild, burnt-toast malt balance and a warm, bitter yeast aftertaste, especially after swirling and draining the light sediment from the bottle.
All right as a session beer, or something to drink with a game of 8-ball (I'm stripes).

A- Chestnut brown color nice and deep but clear. Small head that disappears quickly.
S- Strong cocoa and roasted caramel. Delicious.
T- Cocoa, chocolate, roasted caramel. Lots of roasted malt backbone around. Smooth finish
M- Creamy, smooth. Paves the way to the gullet with a feather bed like feeling.
O- Very good example of a brown ale. Well suited for a late fall bon fire. One of my favorite Shorts brews.
