Ginger in beer may sound like an unlikely dominant force. However, it most certainly works in this case. The beer poured from the bottle into a snifter to make certain the aroma is captured. It poured a hazy gold color with a generous 1 inch white head. A strong ginger aroma was very apparent. The initial taste was a tart rye flavor with the zong of ginger. One can immediately taste a parallel to rye bread. The caronation was a little more aggressive than I would normally like, but did not subtract from my enjoyment. In the aftertaste, the hops become a little more obvious with a bitter finish.
I imagine this beer would go very well with Thai food, but can also serve as an easy drinker on a hot day. It is certainly not a normal beer, but a quality easy drinker.
