Bottle, at local tasting, as Shorts Brew Ginger in the Rye, Imperial Rye Munich Ale. Orange to amber colour, large white head. Strong sweetish aroma of stale jam and ginger. Medium sweet and spicy flavour, with a moderate ginger burn in the finish.

A - Dark copper color with a very thin lacing ring and light carbonation.
S - Dominant ginger with some spice on the nose.
T - Ginger, lemons, some spiciness, graham cracker malt, some wheat presence.
M - Heavy medium body that's borderline heavy/full bodied. Thick, viscous.
O - This beer was better than I expected. Would try this one again.

I had a pint of this as the imperial version at Shorts in Bellaire. Pronounced ginger taste, well balanced with the malts. I really look forward to this coming out in bottles each year. Most ginger brews are too subtle in the ginger taste for these old taste buds and I find this one A-OK.

A: Copper hue w/ a slim cream colored head
S: Ginger for sure, it also carries a mild sweet aroma
T: Sweet backbone accentuated by the ginger, spicy undertone helps round it out.
M: Not too heavy, fits well w/ the taste profile
O: A very fun beer, glad it was a sampler, whole beer might be tough, but it is very good. Perfect for sharing
