A - Pours quite the head... Very think and full head, you cannot pour thsi brew in one full swoop. Head is white in color and fluffy in texture. Brew is slightly murky orange color. Head descends and leave splotchy lacing...

S - Initial scent is of strong mint, upon further investigation there's many different scents... You smell the guava. I also get hints of cinnamon, ginger, pineapple, and orange.

T - Holly bitterness Batman... WAIT, Holly sweetness Batman. WOW a mind blower. This brew is a lot to take on, there's many unique and complex flavors to decipher.

M - Very dry and complex. Wet, but still dry. Heavy and a think drinker. Heavy carbonation too.

O - An extremely bitter brew, one like no other I've had. This brew is a little all over the board. ok, but I wouldn't go out of my to find this one... This brew was a bit too much for my taste buds. Thanks for the brew in a great trade Another6Pack!

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: Slightly cloudy orange amber color with visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass. A nice creamy white head rests of top and displays good head retention. There is just a little lacing on the sides of the glass.

Smell: Pale malt and lots of tropical fruity hops. Pineapple and guava.

Taste: Pale and caramel malt up front give a cookie-like flavor and sweetness, then all tropical fruit. The guava is very noticeable, and pineapple and tangerine usher in the bitterness. The bitter flavors crescendo through the end of the sip, leaving a strong bitter aftertaste. It seems like the guava would come through better without such an overwhelming use of bittering hops.

Mouthfeel: The bitterness give me that paint-peeling sensation on my tongue. There is not a good enough flavor here to warrant that kind of feel. Medium carbonation and a medium body.

Drinkability: The first sips are solid, but it quickly loses its appeal as the glass continues. I would prefer this with a little less pure bitterness to let the guava come through. It was an interesting idea.

4.1/5  rDev +0.5%

Appearance: Hazy yellow-orange, nice big head and decent lacing

Smell: Citrus fruits, juicy hops, light malts and floral notes

Taste: Orange, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, light sweet malts

Mouthfeel: Crisp and light

Overall: Fairly decent American IPA; glad it isn't designed to taste like the tooth fairy or some other random flavor.

A: Aggressive pour yields 1 finger of off white head with good retention. Hazy golden liquid is pretty. Near perfect.

S: Bright pine and grapefruit with pleasant tropical fruit esters. Hints of guava, M.C. Pine and guava mix well.

T: Sweet and thin malt at first yields to bitter hops and tangy, tart guava. Tasty, but a little more malt in the profile would be nice.

M: Thin and quite bitter. A tad astringent.

D: Good. I'm glad I bought six, but wouldn't buy 6 again. I'd order a second one.

bottled 3/30/12. about 6 weeks old.

translucent pale copper color with a decent sized almost white head that quickly recedes and leaves chunky lacing.

Holy Guava, batman. very distinct tangy aroma of tropical fruit. behind that is some more tropical fruit. after that comes a bit of grapefruit and more tangy tropical fruit.

again, guava! tangy and sweet. begins with some hop bitterness before the tangy fruit flavors come in and attack the palate. malts add some sweetness on the backend and a bittersweetness lingers.

thinner side of medium bodied with ample carbonation.

well.... I'm not a fan of guava fruit, but in this iteration combined with some bitter grapefruity hops and a touch of malt sweetness makes this a good beer. a novelty, maybe, but I enjoy it.

Pours a peachy light amber color without much of a head at all. What little head this beer possesses is pure white. This brew leaves a tiny amount of lace, but nothing too spectacular.

The aroma is super fruity with tons of tropical notes. It smells like grapefruit and pine mixed with what I am assuming is guava and some sugary malt. This beer has an amazingly fresh aroma to it and while it is familiar, it is also quite unique.

The flavor is also very potent and fresh. Grapefruit, orange, pine, tropical fruit and guava mix together to make a very tart explosion of acidic flavors. The malt has a bit of a caramel character to it, but is mostly just sweet. My biggest complaint with this beer is that it seems a bit too bitter and the bitterness manifests itself in a very harsh and sharp matter.

The body is medium and the mouthfeel is a bit on the sticky-icky side. It finishes so dry and tart acidic fruits linger long on my palate. This is perhaps contributed to from the very low carbonation.

I think this would be a bit more drinkable if it was a little less bitter, or the bitterness was a bit smoother. Don't get me wrong, this is a pretty tasty beer, but for me it misses the mark in a couple places. Definitely worth trying out.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: Thin white head, low carbonation, and a clear amber/orange body.

Smell: Very fruity, both from the hops and guava. Tropical fruits and somewhat minty.

Taste: The taste is pretty much nothing but fruity hops and guava. Yummy! Bitterness is a little higher than I would have expected. Overall, a very solid American IPA.

Pours a clear golden orange with two fingers of thick head and lots of lacing.

The aroma is grapefruit and watermelon rind with a bit of earth and pine. Very clean.

The flavor is surprisingly lacking much hop character. A bit of an empty bitterness and some earthy nutty malt. Almost watery.

The body is light and carbonation is high. Overall this beer just doesn't have much going for it outside of the wonderful aroma, which does not translate into the flavor profile at all.

Picked up as part of a mixed sixer from the good 'ol Beer Baron.

Poured into a regular ol pint glass at the casa.

A: Light Orange with minimal head on the pour.. has some lacing but nothing crazy.

S: Can smell the bitter fruit and alcohol scent is apparent.. up front smells like dark fruit.

T: Wow. Hits you right away with bitter fruit and fresh pineapple notes (delicious)/citrus/then you can pick up the guava fruity-lingering flavor

M: Complex and fruit flavored, definitly picking up the different flavors in this brew.. balanced rather well with the hops.. Blown away but the complexity in this bottle!

O: Awesome. Another A+ Beer for an already impressive brewery.. Will definitely pick it up again next time ! Its a must try! Not a staple of the American IPA style, but a brilliant and well put together brew.
