Bottle in a pint glass. This is golden orange color, with mild carbonation. Smell is full of orange and fresh, sweet citrus. Taste is light citrus with a slightly bitter finish. This is very drinkable with minimal alcohol presence. For what it's trying to be, this is very good.

Thanks to Jeff for letting me take a bottle from his sixer. I don't know how this release slid under my nose so easily. Pours a bright and vibrant orange color with some solid golden pastel mixed in. The head is made of huge bubbles and transforms from a half-inch thick to nothing but a transparent skin in less than a minute. Some lacing at the top of the glass, but very minimal.

The aroma is almost tropical-like, pretty fruity. Mandarin oranges and tangerines seem to be the biggest proponents, followed by maybe some mango and light pineapple. The hops are pretty pungent and will bit your nose if you get too close. Slightly oily with a huge does of fresh grass and an unmistakable floral essance. This one actually smells a little more sweet than bitter, but don't let that remark understand the presence of the hops. Citric hops and pine hops are definitely battling for the forefront here, but I think the citrus wins out by a narrow margin. Malts are muted and light, maybe providing a touch of sweetness in the background, but not much else.

I take a taste and it's just slightly watery - but I've gotta say, for being only 3.5% ABV, it's not bad at all. I definitely have to cut it some slack. The hops hit the taste buds first, starting off with some spiciness; light white pepper, mildly herbal and ashy. Citrus character is still high, however, combating back with some tangerine, grapefruit, and an assortment of other fruity citrus. The fruit lends a hand to the bitterness, perhaps, by coming off as a big-time peel, pith, and rind component. Maybe the fact that this thing is so low in alcohol also makes the bitterness stand out. Hops come back with a nice, oily pungency in the finish, along with a handful of bread-like malt and a fading peppery spice. Bitterness is sharp, yet balanced. Light-medium bodied, slick and wet on the palate with medium-high carbonation.

Very impressed with this one. Packing that much flavor into a beer clocking in at 3.5% ABV can be tough, but Shorts found a way to do it. The mouth feel and "robustness" that you'd find in a regular IPA or a DIPA may not be there, but the flavors certainly are. And being able to drink this all day without falling over is definitely a big plus. Much better than their Ale la Reverend, in my opinion. I'll be on the look out for a sixer (or more) of this.

A reasonably sizeable fluffy white head with some density and stick to it rests on a clear, bright yellow-amber brew. Retention is good, as what remains of the head sits until the beer is gone. It its wake, it leaves some good, patchy lacing.
The aroma is very nice, pure and pungent. It's got a good strength for a "session" IPA. It consists mostly of citrus in the bouquet, lots of grapefruit and some zest against a sweet malty backing that balances nicely. A bit of grains as well as grassiness usually found in certain lagers or lighter ales sits underneath. A bit of mint sneaks through, telling of a nice rounded use of hops.
In the flavor, the bitterness pushes itself out beneath the malts and becomes stronger even than the hops profile itself. It edges the taste just slightly off-balance, leaning into a more perfume-like note in the finish.
This is a bright, light and crisp beer, and the mouthfeel fits the bill. Given that it's attempting to reach IPA territory and may technically fall into APA range makes it just a bit too light.

A good amount of taste and drinkability for a lower abv beer, kudos for that craftsmanship.
Not the usual hop flavour, citrus and the like. Yet the IBU is clearly there if not a bold taste. Drying finish. Lighter yellow with a quarter-inch of retained head. Thanks Steve for this recent creation.

Pours a semi-translucent golden amber color with a slight head. I get a very piney, almost minty, smell with undertones of citrus. Very refreshing smell. Taste is very hopforward, with citrus notes. There is a good amount of bitterness. The malt background has a touch of sweetness. Not much aftertaste to speak of. Mouthfeel is light and well carbonated. Overall, very easy drinking and would be great in the summer on the water.
