Become your own personal strand of twinkling holiday lights with Juicy Tree, our favorite way to ring in the season. Juicy Tree tastes nothing like most holiday beers, and we’re really proud of that. We’re not messing around with the amount of hand-picked fresh spruce tips, real cranberries and juniper berries in this very very big IPA.

You want piney? How about actual pine needles? Hard to get more piney than that. And the cranberry is noticeable, the juniper berries might be as well but I don’t know how they taste so not sure.
It’s way too easy to drink considering the ABV, I really wish Shorts would put that info on their beers.

Light, clear amber, thick off-white head, great retention, rings of lace
A little bit of cranberry, citrus, and juniper aroma
Spruce and juniper up front, then some cranberry and citrus. Bitter, almost astringent finish
Medium bodied, appropriately carbonated, warming, but you don't taste the booze
They've been brewing this for 10 years now. Why?

Canned on 10-10-22. 12oz can poured into a tulip.

Pours golden with decent clarity; big fluffy and rocky off-white head that sticks around and falls very slowly leaving great thick retention with sticky frothy lacing.

The aromas have faded a bit. Some underlying sweet candy. Mild citrus. Malts are there.

The ingredients come through in the flavor department. The spruce needles and juniper berries lead the way. The cranberries are noticeable. There's a nice amount of pine. Some grapefruit. Some caramel. Moderate sweetness. Solid bitterness. Solid malt backbone. Finishes juicy and dry at the same time. Mild warmth in the finish but the alcohol isn't dominant.

Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's thick, creamy, velvety, fluffy, and smooth.

This is a solid DIPA. It obviously would've been better fresh, but the flavors held up. I'm a fan of the spruce and juniper IPAs and they did a really nice job with this one. It's obviously fitting for the holiday season. Well done.

This is really cool, good and fun, I've had enough spruce tips to pick up on that specifically now and the berry flavor is a nice compliment. This is probably my favorite in the 2022 holiday pack so far. I wish they'd actually put the abv somewhere though as I'm skeptical it's that high

Loosely built like a cranberry gin-and-tonic, but upon a base taste of Imperial IPA, Short's adventurous nature takes them into a seasonal world that hops have never known.

Pale Gold and held in a slight hop-driven haze, Juicy Tree builds a creamy off-white froth while teasing the nose with tangy berries and berries with a serious spruce perfume. As its moderate sweetness coats the tongue on the first sip, the malt flavors carry a notion of caramel, graham cracker and honeysuckle across the tastebuds.

The middle palate shows a tremendous level of transition, starting with orange and grapefruit, quickly turning to the cranberry flavors soon after. The berry tartness is unique for IPA, but eventually the trending bitterness takes over for a bitter-dominant tartness. Spicy, resinous and remaining perfumy even in taste, the beer's excessive bitterness carries a challenging evergreen bite.

With the strong sprucy character of gin, the botanical flavors prove too much for this medium bodied beer. The elements of fruit acidity, hop resins, pectin spice and woodsy phenols all link up for a slight chemical bitterness akin to aspartame. The warming spice of gin carries into an extended and off-clean pine needle bitterness that grips the gullet a little too tightly.
