I can't add much to my very enjoyable visit with Bierschenker, he does the interior description far better than I could below.
My American eyes noted the smokers (ah, Europe), the extensive beer signs of wonderful and unknown beers, the dried hops over the door, and the English girls at the bar. Service was friendly, but laid back. I think our waiter left between our first and second beers, so we hoofed it to the bar. Selection was just mind blowing to me, every Belgian beer I could ever want, and more. Rough count had about 200 beers available.
As Bierschenker noted, close to the town center, down a smaller street, which kept it fairly quiet given the hordes of tourists (of which I was one).
Find this place, it's well worth it.

In my opinion, a precious gem. This barnot only exceeds all levels of expectations as far as selection goes, having three hundred plus beers, and the staff are so incredibly helpful. It had a rustic, local feel too it and it was a perfect way to start the evening. It was a quiet place to really just enjoy the beer!

Named "Bruges' Little Bear" the pub was opened in 1983 and has been a mecca for good beers ever since. This is another small building with tight, or intimate, seating. They offer 300 beers in bottle, with about 4 on tap. Tap beer is just not a big thing in Belgium. We ended up sitting next to a contingent of friendly folks from Sam Adams (Boston Beer Company) who were nearby for an industry conference in Ghent. These are some of the folks responsible for R&D and creators of the boundary pushing Barrel Room beers. We enjoyed discussing American and Belgian beers with those three quite a bit!
Since we had such an outrageous beer list to choose from my wife and I split a Cantillon Kriek and a Boon Mariage Parfait Kriek. Both were wonderful, but anything next to Cantillon pales...
I want to go back here, again and again!
